I used to have a home cleaning business when I lived in California. One couple I cleaned for was a very young girl from the Philippines, her husband was almost 50. She confided in me that they found each other online and she did it to help her family. They love their families, they have strong family ties and will do what they can to help their parents and siblings. There is a lot of poverty in the Philippines and marrying an American is like a business. The girls are good wives and treat their husbands well. Assuming she was honest and the guy did not refute this, she already had accepted a job in another country and refused his overtures. That is not the MO of a green card seeker. Conjecture on my behalf, but his promises to a 20-year-old impoverished girl of a life as a bride in the USA sounded better than working as a domestic helper in SE Asia or the Middle East, and he would take on the financial responsibility she would have provided

@@Stargazer-vk6vz It's my gross generalisation, but you're talking about when the US Naval bases in the Philippines treated the surrounding towns and barangays as the world's largest brothel. Girls desperate enough to escape poverty in the sex trade are looking for an out, and some horny "Hey Joe" thinking with the wrong head is an opportunity to make that happen. The scenario you described disappeared when the US bases closed around 1990. However, I think that's a bit of a strawman in the case of this couple when you consider that this girl was approached through a "mail-order bride" catalogue and an ad she did not place, was not entertaining a trick, and initially declined marriage because she already had accepted a job in another country. She was not the one selling the idea of moving stateside. The guy didn't meet her until he had tabled the marriage idea. I lived in CA for 12 years, from 2007 to 2019, and knew many Filipina/American couples (we're talking 75-100). I guess less than a quarter had come to the USA as the wife of a serviceman, and less than half of those were divorcees. Most had come to the USA as Nurses, aged carers, or students. Background: I've lived in SE Asia for 13 Years, 12 years in California, and now live in the Philippines. I've worked in more than 15 countries. My Filipina wife and I have been married for 25 years, and she has lived with me for all that time. Your generalisation about dedicated, hard-working, and familial responsibility is 100% correct. They are also very poor, which is another thing most Westerners do not understand. They have not taught Spanish in Government schools for a long time, but speaking three languages is common. They will grow up speaking their local dialect (Bisaya in my wife's case) and learn Tagalog (Filipino) and English at school, as much of Philippine formal communication, laws, etc., is still in English, and Tagalog is the official language. The quality of English and Tagalog taught 30-40 years ago in the provinces was barely conversational. When my wife moved to Cavite at 20, she could not understand Tagalog as it was not taught at school. She had to force herself to learn it. Fast-forward to the present day, and my six-year-old foster son here in Bukidnon is speaking better than conversational English after just one year in elementary school.

American women ruined by feminism....

Because in the western world it is wrong to have a young lover. It is frowned upon and westerners are taught not to. In Asia it is fine and good. No problem. The West world teaches you that it is wrong to be attracted to youth and beauty. Those "300 million people in the US" have been programmed to think this. Imagine how difficult this makes it.

@@MaroonedInDub, the winds are changing. Now the older men in good financial standings know that they can get beautiful 20 year old women. It will be the norm.

Mail-order bride is a type of human trafficking. He was probably looking for a submissive bride, sometimes referred to by some as a traditional wife.

He never should have married her. There are just too many differences between them, and he should have known it. Even their appearance and speech are totally opposite.

It’s very sad when these young ladies from foreign countries marry just to be in America to support their families. I’m so glad that JJ can still be able to help this young lady. It’s very sad when a married person takes their other to court just to be spiteful.

A fair ruling since he declared no marital debts in the November divorce. Litigants can't lie in one court and have another court reward the lie. He deserved it.

He isn’t a creep and he isn’t a scammer. American men seek out younger girls from the Philippines all the time. They get a younger girl and in turn, they provide for the girls family and are treated well here in the states well(for the most part). It is sad but the girls do it for the love of their parents and family. It’s just a business arrangement but often times, the girl makes a good wife and the marriages last forever.

Many of these men are predatory.

He thought he bought him a slave. All he had to do was purchase her from her family. Make a few installments when they needed to be paid. What a low life pervert. If thats not human trafficking then I don't know what else you could call it. Working for $10. No. He should be investigated as well as his website.

What an absolute pervert. Thank god that young woman is smart and was dedicated to proving her case. I feel awful that men and her family are taking advantage of her.

This case happened way back then. Nowadays, you must pay the cost to be a high value man and understand the lifestyle that comes with it and choose your wife CAREFULLY!
@bobscratchett53464 күн бұрын
What about this predator screams high value? He’s not a provider, he expected her to work both in and outside the home. He with held her pay from her. He couldn’t find anyone to marry him in the entire US so had to buy a bride with the bribe of a visa. 😂😂😂 very high value. Any man who uses the expression ‘high value’ is just an incel trying to feel better about their inability to attract a woman. Or, a closet homosexual. Just accept who you are and don’t hide behind ‘high value’ cos we know it’s just code for incel

I dont care if she put in ad in to meet someone like that, he's still a groomer. You shouldnt be marrying someone who wasnt even born until after you were out of high school!

I think her family was part of the entire thing, setting up other women as brides for American men. Suing her is insane, and the woman seems quite young, but in the end she also agreed to marry him. I think he was much more cunning than a marriage.
