Greetings from the Ohio Porters. This rig, even with just the cab, is jaw-dropping -awesome! 🥰 They did a top notch job for you. It’s May 2021...I have an old 51 REO wrecker that I’m hoping to get it goin this year...motor, trans, new hubs, wheels, paint, stretching the frame a bit and upgrading to air, etc. My dad purchased this truck new, so it deserves my respect and love. I have a 16 & 14 year old that want to help me, so it will be a learning process for all of us. Stacey, and I hope you read this, I am really diggin the RAZZLEBERRY color on this truck! 😎 You have inspired me. I haven’t seen your show in years and I’m not sure you’re still doing any specials, but I need all the inspiration I can get! I’m gonna finish watching this truck and research how to stay in touch with what you’re doing. Looking forward to more on this wrecker. This is my motto...”Make the trip but don’t forget to enjoy the ride.” And I want to enjoy my ride!!! 😎 Maybe I can send you a picture of my truck. Thanks again! 🤩

Man, does that bring back some memories! In 1973 I worked in Ohio for a company that custom manufactured stainless steel food service equipment and then transported and installed it. Stacey, I have a '63 Chevy cab over. The fire dept had put a box 350 into it a couple of months before they learned that there was a limit to the number of years that a fire truck can be used. The pump and big water tank was removed and I had a tread-plate floor installed and the sides cut down to pickup height with the cut edge rolled. A 5th wheel hitch was mounted in order to pull my 40' travel trailer. By leaving the Fire dept. Insignia on the doors and attaching my truck to a volunteer dept. as a parade truck, I do not have to put a tag on it. I saw what you did to the dash & seats. That will be the next project on it. The rear-end is still the slow unit. I do have a 2-speed U-Haul rear-end coming to me in order to get a higher speed out of it. I really appreciate your videos. They are a lot of fun!!!

Stacey, I don't know if you read these comments or not, but if you do, I have a request for a safety segment idea on working on elevated vehicles no matter what kind of jack or lift is used. A friend of mine was killed this year due to his car falling on him. I don't know the details of what he was doing to it, but from what I'm told he was laying under it, doing repairs and the jack broke, and car fell on him. Thank you in advance.

I dig the keg fuel tank idea but it just looks wrong on this platform. You need to build some sort of filler panel to blend the bed together. Even if you put a step down to expose the top quarter of the keg tank but squared off the bottom 3/4 it would look so so much cleaner, in my humble opinion that is

Far too often people overlook safety - I have used eye protection, ear protection gloves etc etc all my life - EXCEPT one time working on a F-CKWITS' car at my mate's workshop using a grinder without a shroud (I knew better - but risked it) - I still have the scar some 30-year later - luckily it was not an exploding wheel - it makes me SHUDDER when I see so many people using cutting wheels without a shroud. Many years ago - a mate now long gone was 'notorious' for working under a car with nothing more than a hydraulic jack - no jack stands - HA - I used to slip one under the car and would hear him swear as he let it down and the car would hit the jack stand I had quietly slipped under there. Unfortunately, a heavy car meeting a squishy human body usually means that bits that are meant to stay inside your body end up coming from the inside to the outside of your body in a catastrophic and painful way - not good. Have a nice and safe day all. CHEERS from AUSTRALIA.
