It's a great little skidder, small enough to get into tighter spots and pull logs out of gullies. Thanks for watching!

How do you like this machine? I’ve seen discussions with people advising to avoid the S7 because there are a lot of problems and parts are scarce, go with the S8 instead. Looks like it does fine. I’m an IH enthusiast and would love to have one. I’ve never had a skidder, I have International light duty’s. I do have a Terex 3-1/4 yard bucket loader, I use it to drag trees around and have considered putting a winch on it, but this would be better. I also have log forks with top clamp for the loader, but still need to get enough power to charge the diverter valve to run it. I installed the diverter valve, and it seems I need to add relays. I have twenty acres of timberland that half the trees died on five years ago, I’m still dealing with them.

My S7B is a great little skidder and has served me well. Actually, mine is the only International skidder I've ever seen here in my local area. The biggest problem that I've heard of with these machines is that the planetary gears are somewhat on the weak side and you can't get replacements anymore. The axles are locked solid so when you do a tight turn it puts a lot of stress on the planetary gears, kind of wish I could unlock the differentials and lock them only when needed. So I do my best to baby the old girl and go slow when I need to do a tight turn. If I can find a set of better diffs off of a different machine for the right price I will probably change them later on. I also use my Michigan 175C front end loader for pulling out stumps and moving them around, works great but it's really too big for out in the woods. Your Terex is probably the perfect size for that, wouldn't mind having one of those myself! Thanks for your comment and Thanks for watching!

@@niemiwoods My Terex is open differentials front and rear. I’ve thought about getting a locker for the rear, and am aware that the axles will be more likely to break that way. I found a place in Ohio that has a No Spin differential for the Terex. The logger mechanic that helped me swap in a turbo engine last year told me to leave it like it is, he has the same size Hough loader. So he’s aware of scarcity of parts. I ordered a set of tire chains for the Terex, I can’t afford to get two sets at once. They’re supposed to be here Tuesday, they will help with traction, without lockers. The loader has good traction as it is, considering it’s open differentials. My channel has some videos of my loader, including pushing over a 28” cedar tree, then another one of pulling the stump away. I’ll watch more of your videos, I like the old iron.
