A lot these people do their own mechanical work sometimes onsite. A lot of these machines here are likely engineered to be easily serviceable by the owners. These engines are overbuilt heavy workhorses, the rest of the vehicle is very much the same idea, heavy, built like German brick shithouse, but not completely idiot proof. Safety redundancy is, archaic. Parts for these vehicles are a dime a dozen for mechanics and merchants, and easy to find but certainly can be a costly markup for the forestry workers who own machines like these.
