Way back 2013 I planned to enter Canada as international student but I knew the risks so I applied for the landed immigrant route at dala ko pa family ko. That was during Harper’s time at controlled ang immigration ng Canada that time at skills tlaga ang labanan at dapat demand dito. Also kahit na sabihin nating iniwan sa ere, any government all have the right to make policies for their country, if you don’t like it, leave especially temporary status holder ka. Sabihin na nating umasa ka , nagsacripisyo ka, the bigger picture is lahat yan part ng risks na tinahak mo and you should be ready if ever the outcome is not what you hoped to be. This woman is saying all the yada yada and how about the yada yada of the citizens? Who do you think the government will listen to? Only citizens not even the pr’s can put these political personalities in their places.

Ang mga agency ang obvious na nangbudol sa mga I.S. Syempre negosyo so lahat ng way gagawin nila para manghikayat. Ang malaking responsibility naman ng gustong mag-apply eh magresearch mabuti at hindi lang ipaubaya sa mga agency ang future mo dahil binayaran mo sila. Di rin nila pedeng isisi sa study, work & stay ads ang pag-aaral overseas dahil negosyo sya at nakikipagcompete din ang Canada sa US, UK, Australia, New Zealand atbp. Kung naipasa nila ang mataas na score sa english test then we can consider na naiintindihan nila ang mga limitations ng isang I.S. Never make false expectation so di kayo ma-disappoint. Kayo ang nagdecide na piliin ang Canada at kayo ang nagdecide na mag-I.S so there is no way for you to question ang decisions ng Canadian Immigration.

I checked Government of Canada website about that Study Work and Stay slogan. Not sure kung pati yun ay nabago pero ang nakalagay is after they graduated, they can stay and become PR if they can find the right pathway like PNP, CEC etc and if their job experience in Canada are listed on the NOC.

IS ako now pero I cringe whenever I see these kinds of IS na blaming Canadian government for their plight. Nung nag-apply ako ng student visa sa Pinas, nakalagay naman sa SOP ko, uuwi after. So ibig ba nila sabihin, hindi nila nilagay sa SOP nila uuwi sila? Yup, there's a pathway to PR pero it was never guaranteed.

When we applied in 2013 to become PRs, if I remember correctly, they did not give emphasis na you need to have experience inside Canada to have advantage on your application. Purely high skills ang labanan noon. Nung makaupo ang Liberals, kung tama ako in 2015 nung dumating kme dito sa Canada, nag-iba ang rules for permanent residency. Kahit highly skilled ka (like doctors, dentists, engineers, etc) kung wala kang Canadian experience, medyo disadvantage un sa yo. Kaya I think, napilitan karamihan na pumunta dito under TFW/ students to have that Canadian experience.

Immigration doesnt need active marketing approach. On another note dapat ang website for application should have explicit notification that student status is not to CITIZENSHIP.

I can say when you plan to migrate in any other country, better process your application directly to embassy not thru agency or agent. Because embassy will be able to tell you the real situation.

sabi ksi nang Govenment kailangan mga school na accredited nang Canada itself ang dapat piliin na school. I applied for a student visa before, and I was advised to take a guaranteed PR pathway na school and courses. But I got refused, and that was not our luck. But I always believe God has a perfect plan, and I believe in this. Last year, we got our PR, and we ended up landing a PR. dapat talaga aware tayo sa steps natin.

Mga B lang naman nagrereklamo. Ang clear, na possibility lang ang PR pag IS. Sumulat kami ng letter of explaination or statement of purpose - SOP detailing paano kami at bakit kami uuwi sa home country namin pagkatapos ng study. Dapat ang gobyerno strict sa ganyan. Alamin sino ba yang babaeng nag sspeak, hanapin yung statement of purpose nila. Pag nakita yung letter, basically, they are valid to deport because lies ang sinabi about their real intention in Canada. If they dont have the letter, then there is negligence on their part sa pag approve ng visa. And have to look through agency representing these IS and yung possibility of inside job. Visa officers na nag aapprove wo the SOP na maybe connected with these immigration agencies. Unless stated ni IS she's going in dual intent, then yun lang ang lusot. Pero sa pagkakatanda ko, you still have to explain your plan of going back in case nga na di ka payagan magstay sa Canada. There is also a section of home ties.

I think Canadian govt did not guarantee for PR to IS but they can explore immigration programs after grad. I am so sorry to say that I think the govt has the right to amend/create new policies to respond evolving society... it might be beneficial to many or can lead to terrible suffering. The actors of policy change may have interests, values, priorities, agenda but I think Canada govt never gave a guaranteed PR to IS but only a chance to explore. The payment of high tuition fees, paid taxes etc are not even an agenda to discuss because you knew all these things before applying as IS ( not unless somebody gave a different views or applicants did not read or understood the words STUDY WORK STAY literally. It is the same as on Buy One Get One... but there is a word... Conditions May Apply.

Since hindi Canada ang nagmislead, they shouldn't cover costs / help with negative consequences for those na naloko. So I hope taxpayer dollars don't go into helping those na "nabudol". I don't think unaware ang mga clients na may possibility na hindi sila makapagtransition to PR. Getting PR is a privilege, not a right. If you lose status, just leave. Always have a plan B, esp. if you came to Canada as a student who agreed to leave afterwards. Even PGWP was not promised.

Staying in Canada as International Student is possible but not GUARANTEED. Canada has to protect the workplace prioritizing the Canadian citizen newly graduated students to find jobs and only allow acceptance to those skilled immigrants to fill in blank. I cannot say government has no mistake. They came as students but hoping to stay later. I agree with you Ina, immigration should tighten belt.

Huwag nilang sabihin na malaki ang nai contribute nila sa Canada. Malaki din naman ang napakinabang nila da government health care, child tax benefit na nakukuha nila sa bawat anak, marami ang gumagamit din ng food bank. Kasabihan natin walang manloloko kung walang magpapaloko. Marami sa kanila ang nagpabagsak sa Canada.

They could have done more research before moving here and paying alot for tuition. Mid 2022 nag balak ako mag student dito sa Canada although after watching this documentary "How recruiters in India use false promises to lure students to Canada - The Fifth Estate" I realized na hinde siya ideal pathway. So nag apply nalang ako ng work dito feb 2023, nakarating sa Saskatchewan mid oct 2023 as a TFW with a 2 year work permit. 9 months later na PR, at still nasa same employer parin ako at nabigyan ng increase gawa ng performance. Kaysa nag student sana nag hanap nalang kayo ng work at working visa ang in-apply, nag sisinuwaling pa tayo sa sarili natin e. Marami akong na encounter na kababayan sa layover ko sa Japan na same flight to vancouver. Majority sa kanila naka visitors visa, pero siyempre alam naman iba ang pakay nila kundi mag hanap ng work sa Canada.

I guess, the bottomline is, when you come here in 🇨🇦 as temporary, eiher IS or TFW, there is no guarantee for PR. Kahit qualified ka sa mga PR pathways, there are still chances of refusal. I feel sad to those affected of these changes. But we must also understand that the gov't can change policies and it will always prioritize it's citizens. Sad fact, as temporaries, we cannot demand from the govt. I hope the gov't will go after those fraudsters. They are immigrants too, mostly. Sila sana marevoke ang pr and citizenship at madeport.

I don't think so. Legitimate international students are the ones enrolled in Universities like in University of Alberta, Ontario, Saskatchewan where they are pursuing to get a Baccalaureate degree or 4 year academic courses. They still have the same status. They are different from Int'l students taking up one year course or vocational courses. Their purpose is to get work permit together with their parents, spouses. They should go, they are not legit IS, they are transients. More so, there should be a quota or limit for study permit as the application costs only CAD 255. So anybody can apply.

I met a very young Indian IS girl while waiting a transit ride in a bus stop, she's crying uncontrollably while doing video chat with her parents, they're speaking in Punjabi but I could understand the topic is about the changes in the policy, she keeps telling them sorry, sorry for the broken promises of a PR status. Naawa talaga ako sa kanya, after her video chat with them, I ask her if she's okay, kasi umiiyak pa rin sya, she open up with her story with me, that her parents mortgaged their land just so she could have a bright future here in Canada, would eventually be able to send back money to pay off all their family debts in India.

Mahirap humopia. Sa umpisa pa lang naman, hindi naman ibig sabihin na international student ka, automatic may pr card ka after. It was an option, yes. But never a guaranteed one. Wala akong problema sa international student. Wala akong problema sa mga refugees at asylum seeker. Bahala kayo kung ano gusto nio gawin sa buhay nio. Basta lumaban kayo ng patas at wag kayong abusado at sunod lang sa law. Tsaka wag din ipilit yung paniniwala nio sa ibang tao. Respeto lang.

The Canadian Citizens does blame the government for this chaos. However, the newcomers should be adjusting to the Canadian culture, the Canadian ways not vice versa. The Citizens is just asking to respect this country. If the newcomers cannot respect the Canadian ways then they do not deserve to be respected by Canadian citizens. Leave Canada if you cannot obey the rules and regulations here in Canada. Since when a student visa is guaranteed to get a PR? People will need to comprehend the word " Maybe". Maybe doesn't mean guarantee. But i do feel bad for this immigrants. They were promised by recruiters and the government did not do their homework such as having the infrasture that the country can provide for this people.
