As a kid I watched my uncle push many a mountain with these td-25s he swore by them. They were easy to maneuver because the steering levers were right between your legs it had planetary steering and the machine was a workhorse seldom ever broke down. My uncle's gone now but his memory and the machines he drove and that old td-25 will never be forgotten thanks for the memory.

Those old International's were really great dozers. They pushed HARD, were really easy to handle, rarely broke down, and had a really deep, throaty growl.

I watch a lot of these videos from my armchair so that pretty much makes me an expert on these matters. I could carry on endlessly about the torque converter, turbo, blade, soil, and so forth. Bottom line? Cool video. Thank you.

These old mechanical dozers + diesels smoke any of the new electronic garbage out there. TD25 + TD 30, D8H, D8K, D9G, D9h, D355 + D455 are beasts of a lost time.... a time I still live in mentally

Ole TD25 Sounds good. glad to see an ole IH Not marked as a Dresser & Still working every day . they dont build em like this any more. remember a friend of the family had a TD25 W/ a IH V8 In it. talk bout a beautiful sound .

Would have been a TD 20C or E as they were the only ones that IH made that had a V 8 engine in them.

Yes sir. He had a TD20C with the IH V8. That's the dozer with the V8 I was thinking of. Thanks for Jogging my Memory. 😎. He also had a TD25C with the DT817 In it. Both were stout machines . Especially on the clearing jobs my family done back in the day.

Yes! You had the highs and lows you can steer with instead of wearing out clutches.No interuption of power at all. I really miss the one I used to run.

the Tds had more pushing power on a turn than the cats.Overall the cats just outlasted the others .The Komats are giving them a run for the money now, the operators made all the difference on any machine on any job.

Later model with supercharger and torque converter. One of the best dozers of the day. Right up there with the D9H, only not as big. Operator does not finish his push, until the blade is empty.

I am not sure what the plan was there,jamie had it right,he was mixing the topsoil in with the subsoil and piling it all in one pile.Must have been part of the "master" plan.

Looks like he is doing it right to me. Stripping and stockpiling topsoil prior to digging the pond. Then he can use the topsoil on the outside of the dam and top for grass.

is it 25b or 25c, very big difference in performance between those two machines. same engine (817) but full panetary drive to the rear spockets, not just pinion and bull gear
@puksrasohchurrun6 жыл бұрын
neil farnell both 25b and c and 30 ran planets after the pinion crownwheel. 15s and 20es ran planetaru in the final drive aswell as steering plants after the crowneheel. Incredibly good system cat copied as close as they could get wirhout breaching i.h/dressta patent in their "diff steer" line up. Even that idea they stole from cletrac

we had a 25b what a monster go places a d8 couldnt track frames are farther forward than a cat harder to get stuck . canvases and reversible fan blades . heat in the winter warm water in the snow and rain. all around power house. i think it was much more trouble free than the cats and would go up a loam or peat pile that youd be digging a d8 out of.

What most people don't seem to realize is that the point of maximum traction is that point just before your tracks/wheels slip (tractor tyres run about 11% slip in soil for max traction), so if his tracks are skidding he is no longer pushing at max and is wearing his track gear out faster than he should.
@puksrasohchurrun5 жыл бұрын
