ICP can host up to 400gb of data within one smart contract (1TB by the end of the year). Smart contracts can run AI models. ICP has a Bitcoin and Ethereum L2s within the same ecosystem (soon to also include Solana). USDC is now available on ICP. Dfinity (main contributor to ICP) is the largest Research and Development team in the whole crypto space with 1000+ years worth of research and thousands of citations. ICP transactions are not just tokens, but full stack computation, there is no point comparing tps as Solana is limited to token transactions only. You can think of ICP as a super computer with all the perks of a blockchain and more.

SOL is a good chain but with the current mass wave of new memecoins it cannot handle the load of transactions. There are many days when the solana network fails and people have lost their money. SOL and ICP integrations make it possible for SOL users to secure the safety and integrity of the ICP chain while using their SOL tokens like they can with ckETH or ckBTC.

Solana gives an insane amount of money for marketing . It shows. The tech is mid. Definity gives their money for research and development an basically none for marketing. The real tech will prevail, when solana reaches a point where their tech flops on its face.

Sometimes hype is better than tech. In the early days of crypto I used to make similar comparisons and put my money in places other than bitcoin, it didnt pay off. Find out where the crowd is or might lean and at least give yourself exposure to it.

Correct. I have been in the space since 2015 and know that crypto is not rational. Follow the hype and follow the money and you will make bigger and faster gains. I have ETH, SOL and ICP but to expect ICP to dominate in 5-10yrs is naive. Can it? Its possible, but In crypto what happens with good projects, developers eventually leave and build their own competing chain, copy the tech and improve it. If ICP is as incredible as what everyone believes, expect competitors fellow ICP holders. This is the nature of the business.

Plenty of people have made money from SOL in the past year or two. I imagine there will be more money to be made by the end of 2025. I don't now nor have I ever had any SOL, but I'd have no problems with having bought at $8 and selling at $200+. However that's also all hindsight at this point. Locking down a market top - or even close to market top - so you can plan a great exit strategy is both difficult and stressful. That's one of the big reasons I went heavy into ICP and staked it instead of spending all my free time trying to figure out a much larger number of assets across the market.
