I never understood why this game got early hate to begin. I know ubisoft track record as of late has sucked but when they actually go out of their comfort zone (which has made them lazy) they cook.

I think because it is a metroidvania style game instead of 3D action game like the ps2 trilogy. And also the graphics look ps2 era. Metroidvania fans prefer sprite or artsy(like hollow knight) based games. But the game itself looks legit.

It’s because people on the internet see others hate Ubisoft so they just join in and dunk on anything the company makes. I’m not defending Ubisoft whatso ever but it seems the internet just loves to jump to conclusions early. Almost as if being negative about something somehow makes people smarter than others.

It's because people don't know the difference between the different Ubisoft Studios. Usually Montpelier and Milan make the actually good games that are worth your time and money. Paris and Bordeaux on the other hand...

@TheLarkaanimation they have a lot of good game titles under their belt but since 2010 I would say they have been suffering from repetitiveness in how their games feel and also just being too long. Imo they do really well when they go out of their comfort zone but since people just like dunking on ubisoft games good stuff died earlier than they should have (r6 extraction, hyperscape, and more).

As someone completely new to the series in terms of actually playing it, I have to say I’m in love with the aesthetics of the series and the mythology around it. Sands of time tends to win out thanks to the music and the monster design. If this game is on switch, I’d definitely aim to try it out.

My favorite PoP game is Sands of Time. It was so well executed on every level and I never got tired of the wall running, it always felt super cool. The story was great and I liked how the ending was bittersweet. It earned it because the story was that good and the characters were so well written. It is just a great game.

This game looks really fun to me, a lot of the complaints I’ve seen online about this new one is that it’s not a 3D action game like the stuff in the 2000’s (I never played those though so I don’t mind since this new one looks sick)

My favorite was prince of Persia the fallen king. It was my dad’s favorite franchise and it was my first game I ever played. Great memories and definitely showing my future kids this game.

I've never seen anything prince of persia until now but this game was so... wow. Every single detail. The story is so compelling, the anime-like cutscenes. The color dynamics and usage. Characterization. Plot twists. The gameplay in fighting AND platforming looks both challenging and fun all at the same time... this game is wow I want it so badly, good for you Choctopus, you deserved that, so glad u got that opportunity to go to france! My preferred platform is definitely either nintendo switch or steam :D and my favorite game is definitely this one but I am now 100% gonna go look back and discover and experience the older prince of persia games, thank you for giving me a new huge interest 👀👀

Funnily enough, there's a lore piece you can find where a foreman complains about how so much of the city is dangerous, and that he's lost half-a-dozen workers to them before deciding to resign. And you can find another piece that reveals the design somehow makes it easier to collect Athra. Don't ask me how.

I absolutely love the prince of Persia series!!! I would have to say that my favorite game of the series is "Prince of Persia" from 2008. I love the asthetics of the games and the story is just so good too. Preferred console would probably be xbox

I love MetroidVania's. They are my absolute favourite genre of video games like Hollow Knight. I would love to play Prince of Persia on my Nintendo Switch. I have never played a Prince of Persia game before but friends and family have told me that the genre is exceptional! This games animations look STUNNING and a true LEGEND from many other games I have seen before! I welcome this new style of gameplay with open arms.

My fav prince of persia game was the reboot. It was one of the first games I got for the ps3 and me and my brother were mesmerised by the cell shaded graphics. Back then that kind of art style wasn't used that match so it was kind of fresh air for us

The one that I remember fondly and find my favourite is Warrior Within. This game had the most brutal and cool combat of its time! The music was banger too, the prince himself was such a chad and the story and characters were memorable. I really wish it wasn't rushed. Regardless it will remain as one of the best games of its time

Ahh Prince of Persia Warrior Within. My Older brother had gotten it for his, at the time, top of the line computer. The game was such a rush with the parkour and never knowing when your going to get chased. Prince of Persia was also the first game I got for steam. Had to skip class to get a pre paid to get the franchise deal. Did not want to miss it. This game looks amazing and could easily become my new favourite.

I’m gonna be honest, this is by far my favorite metroidvania game I’ve played. The sheer quality of it make me love it so much. Would appreciate if if I did get a copy, it would be a switch version. Edit: Got enough money to get it! Everything I wanted and more. Way easier to explore than any other metroidvania I’ve played and I love the sheer amount of customization available with difficulty and even cosmetics. 10/10 game for me already, and I haven’t even beaten the game

My favorite Prince of Persia game so far is Prince of Persia the Forgotten Sands. As a child I watched my father playing it until I was old enough to play it myself. I managed to complete and I just loved the action and climbing this game had to offer. (PS5)

mine was the old trilogy from prince of persia. This game is for me a mix of those but completly new. I played those on the pc of my big brother often which is my favorite platform to play games. That ubisoft sponserd you is such a crazy thing for me because i have never seen a ubisoft sponsor. I wonder if you do a complete video on this game. I am hyped and wanted to get this game by myself. My favorite Prince of Persia HAS to be The Sands of Time, because that's the one I played with my father. We had such a good time with it. I think my preferred platform for this one would be PC tbh. Honestly when I first saw this game revealed, I thought it looked ok, but I was a lil bummed you dont actually play as the prince. Honestly seeing how it takes a lil inspiration from the ORIGINAL Prince of Persia game and that the animations look SICK has me excited for it

I played the og trillogy on my ps2, my favorite was the PoP and the two thrones, a lot of time spent on it and the game that got me into gaming as a whole and the first game i ever finished. I hope they remake the whole trillogy some day

I honestly like all of them, but I would have to say 2003's "The Sand in Time" since that was around when I really first got into gaming, and i've been a Playstation player ever since, the PS5 has been insanely fun to play with. Makes me wonder what is going on with that Sands of Time remake. Even if it comes out and it isn't the best, I'll still have fun; I just like playing games.

I love Prince of Persia 2008 (although I can say that for any game in this series), its probably one of the most visually stunning games I've played, glad to see another PoP game go for a more cel-shaded look. This game definitely pulls it off a lot better. If I were to pick this game up I'd get it on PC.

Never played a Prince of Persia game before, but I’d definitely consider looking at the series if it’s comparable to The Lost Crown (though I doubt they would top this one. I’m normally not a huge metroidvania person but this looks sick). Also really nice to see a game that looks like the Switch port is comparable to the other platforms - it’d be nice to have something new for the long road trips.

I played the demo on switch and I enjoyed how stunning it is. I never touched a single prince of Persia game but this is an awesome Metroid Vania game. I hope Ubisoft releases other games of this series or a remake of older games, so I can get them back. And yes my favorite platform is switch 🐈

I never got to play the Prince of Persia games because I never had the right console for them. (I was also raised almost strictly on Nintendo games, specifically Mario games) but as soon as you said Metroidvania, you had my attention. I absolutely ADORE games like Bloodstained: ROTN and this feels like it would play somewhat similar, if not smoother; so, I would be happy to make The Lost Crown, my first Prince of Persia game!

I've always wanted to get into Prince of Persia, but it always struck me as something like, Star Wars or Star Trek which is to say. Hard to get into if you weren't there for it when it started. But a free game would definitely be good reason to play. From what I've seen here The story is compelling, the gameplay is phenomenal, and the graphics/art style is STUPENDOS.
