As someone with addictive tendencies, time blindness, and poor money sense, gambling (and probably by extension Vegas, since it is the lion's den of that particular form of manipulation) is a not-even-once kind of situation for me. Like smoking, it seems like a very easy way to risk ruining your life. If I need that flavor of excitement I'll stop wearing my seat belt in the car. That said, I enjoyed this guide a great deal and learned a lot about traveling in general. Once again, netshaq has produced content with an extreme emphasis on practicality that I have thoroughly enjoyed despite having little to no practical use for it.

I am glad you did mention Area 15 and OmegaMart which are probably my favorite experiences to be found in Vegas. Personally for me I would also love to add on top of those the underrated museums of the area. The Atomic Museum and the Mob Museum are fantastic places to visit. The Pinball Hall of Fame is also really fun. And if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle the Springs Reserve/Nevada State Museum and of course Red Rock Canyon, Valley of Fire State Park, Lake Mead, etc. There is a lot to do out there that isn't based around drinking, eating, gambling, showboating, or uh...fornicating lol

Wow...the opening of this video is me ! I basically hate travel too and yet I LOVE going to Las Vegas. I don't know why but it's different than any other place I've been. I've been on vacation there more times than anywhere else I've been. I keep going back for some reason. Even though it seems like a high energy place, it can have a very relaxed vibe. There's lots of opportunities to do things, and everything's in easy access, but there's no pressure to really DO anything. I also love Red Rocks too, and the contrast between the city and the wild desert, and the fact that the city ends so abruptly and the rural desert is right there. I could go on and on. The only thing that sucks about Vegas is that it's an ecological disaster. But otherwise I love it.

As someone who lived in NOLA for a few years whenever anyone asked me where to eat in the french quarter I genuinely didnt have any recommendations because there's a lot of great food outside the quarter at like 3/4 the price and probably half the health violations, so real shit mr shaq. This video was so detailed and I especially loved the points about not skipping the trial/exploration phase of traveling! That being said, the absolute highlight of my most recent Vegas trip (also in February, best time to go hell yeah) was accidentally finding The Barbershop at The Cosmo and walking in to a full blown concert. After a weekend of drinking and partying like crazy, we were all too tired/hungover to drink or club anymore. This was the perfect cap to our weekend and I’ll recommend it for as long as the venue continues to exist!

Hey, just wanted to say shoutouts for advising people not to gamble. It nearly destroyed my sister's life - you couldn't catch her drinking more than a single PBR, but for a time she had to have her cards confiscated and her money controlled by our grandparents as part of recovery on top of regular GA meetings and therapy. Rendered unable to pay her bills, insurance, car, had to move in with family to overcome the debt. Of all the addictions you could have, gambling is the snake that eats its own head because when you win once (she was the youngest person to win the jackpot at a regional casino) you think you can win again (she never won like that again). It would have been really easy to make a video about "the best casinos in Vegas" so thanks for bucking the trend. And hey, if you reading this comment have a loved one dealing with gambling addiction, or if you are in the middle of it, I see you and there's another side. Congrats on the baby! I went to Vegas for the first time in February 2022. I went with my parents, and it was President's Day weekend, so Vegas was pretty crowded. We booked the stay through Costco Travel. The package consisted of the room (resort fees not included), the flight, and a rental car. The package cost was the same whether we wanted a rental car or not, so we decided to get a car. After landing, we had to wait on a line to take the bus shuttle to the airport rental car facility. The bus wait line was a tad long, but nothing compared with the bus wait line after we returned the rental car. Once at the rental facility, the check in process was relatively easy. After getting the car, my first trip was to the nearby Walmart. The checklist here was simple: 1. A phone mount for GPS, a must if I'm driving in a strange city. Also, I intended to go a nearby state or national park (more on that below) 2. Several gallons of drinking water. My brother had warned me that Vegas tap water was terrible, and he was right (even when filtered). We brought reusable bottles to fill with this water. 3. Snacks Also, the Walmart's liquor section was just ridiculous. It was a whole section of liquor, beer, and wine. The room was at the Signature at MGM, which is about a 5-10 minute walk east of the PH Miracle Mile shops, and the stay included complimentary valet parking. We checked in at Tower 1, but had to walk a long way to Tower 3 where our room was. Valet parking was straightforward, but needing to tip the valet every time we returned or needed our car got annoying. In addition, Tower 3 was the least crowded of the towers, so its valet station was only open for certain hours. Fortunately on the 2nd night, the valet lot became full. So they asked us to park at the Signature's parking garage across the street instead. It turns out the parking garage was only a 5 minute walk from the main entrance & Tower 3. So henceforth, we always parked at the garage and saved on valet tips. If you have a car, the dining options are considerably more budget-friendly and probably better outside the strip. Over 4 days, we ate outside the strip about 4 times. Besides Lotus of Siam (great rec), we also loved Monzu, a mid-tier Italian eatery & bakery that makes bread using a centuries-old sourdough starter. Monzu's antipasti platter is just insane. We got the "small" for 5 people, and we still ended up taking almost half of it home. In addition, with a rental car, you aren't locked into just going to places on the Strip or ubering to places within Vegas city proper. Since I'm from the East Coast, I wanted to see all the red rock landscapes like the ones in the Roadrunner & Coyote cartoons. The Grand Canyon was a full day's trip, so I postponed visiting it to another trip. We ended up going to Valley of Fire state park, which was just gorgeous. The weather certainly helped: it was crystal clear blue skies that day, and then windy dust storms just a couple of days later. The rest of my time at Vegas was spent just walking around the strip, getting to know the lay of a place I've never been to. I went all the way South to the Mirage one day, then all the way north to the Wynn the next day. The Signature is in a pretty good central location. My parents and I took coffee breaks when we got tired, and ate when we needed to. My gambling budget was for poker only. I was only interested in entering a tournament. Poker rooms are basically casino operator's shame, even though poker was immensely popular about 15-20 years ago. The casinos make no money on poker compared with the other games, so the rooms are shoved somewhere far, far away within the gaming floor. And when you do fine one, you'll find that the poker rooms are so small (compared with the rest of the casino floor), the active tables are usually crowded with long wait times. On the plus side, it is far easier to find a poker room in any Vegas casino than it is to find one at an Atlantic City or Macau casino. I ended up spending $150+$50 at a poker tournament at Caeser's Palace. I ended up busting out in 3 hrs, so it was money well spent for the time. I was thirsty during the middle of the tourney, so I ended up buying a $5 bottle of water from the bar. That bottle of water was the worst ripoff I felt during the whole trip. Finally, the one place I wanted to try was Eggslut at the Cosmopolitan. The main line stretched into one of those back corridors. Then there was another line across the restaurant that was a carryover from the main line. I didn't come to Vegas to wait in line for hyped-up food, so Eggslut would have to wait.

One of the better videos you've made recently. Super entertaining, I've watched the whole video in one sitting, your energy does help me focus on these longer formats.

Secret Pizza is always a good spot. Cheap, really good, and personally I’ve never had to queue longer than 5 minutes

As someone who has been to Vegas dozens of times and has stayed days to weeks... I recommend staying at most 3 or 4 days, max. Also, Proper Eats was created by the founder of CH Projects here in San Diego; Jason knows what he's doing. Respect for the Peppermill call-out! I also come back to Best Friend every time, especially after Roy himself served us his spaghetti.

Nice guide. I'm going to Vegas for a con in the summer so I might use some of this advice for the additional days I'm taking. Also, Congrats on the baby. I'm positive it'll be the most exciting time and the hardest time in your life.

I went for my birthday in 2022 and 2023. I love vegas. In the span of one year the cost of everything went up exponentially, and I spent about double doing even less in 2023. Also, the Luxor is so underrated and the best pool.

I hated Vegas as a kid/tween and it's been well past a decade since I last went, but Circus Circus has a special place in my heart on account of that amusement park inside. The 4D Spongebob ride definitely contributed to that nostalgia too
