what are the tie lines? How do you get them?

they are the lines that you can read the compsoition of both phases. Usually, we do not "get" them, they are already drawn

+Z33NY Tie lines connect two phases that are in equilibrium with each other. So if you have a overall composition mixture in the envelope, the tie lines will tell you the composition of the two phases present, by following the tie line out to each edge of the envelope.
