Thats it for now, but I have in my storage room ready to install: -ZL1 Short Throw Shifter, and the big one: -GM High Performance Ported Heads and LS 7 Camshaft , for a 40 hp more power. And thats it, no spoiler, no hood insert.

I was gonna go with the same z28 Style insert but I'm considering the Trackspek Z28 Insert from Redline360. It's a Bit Wider & is made of metal instead of ABS. I'm thinking about buying my dream Camaro in about 3 months, its a V8 CAMARO SS 2013 stock with 88.000 miles on it (141.000 km). The car is in perfect shape but the mileage scares me a little. I'm from Costa Rica and we have a culture of running away from cars with over 60.000 miles on them.

These cars are pretty reliable even after 60000. It's really seals and gaskets that has been my issues bro!
@herewegoagain...4 жыл бұрын
My list, after owning one for 10 years, and tracking it. 1) Cooling is trash, needs a good all aluminum radiator. (Hood vent will help some) 2) The car has DOT 3 brake fluid from the factory, which will boil over quick. Swap it with a good 5.1 high temp fluid. Also get a separate reservoir for your clutch fluid; they are shared from the factory. 3) Hurst Shifter. The factory shifter throw is like rowing a boat and the knob is massive. 4) Air Intake. Factory air box has a 6.2L breathing through a straw. Mainly for throttle response, but it does pick up 15hp to the wheels (K&N Factory dyno test) 5) Exhaust. Not only is factory a little quiet, the metal is cheap and has a tendency to break down and rattle after about 40k miles. I went is Flowmaster G-Force kit (3 chamber series 50 design) 6) New Clutch system. The entire clutch system in the Camaro is sub standard and can lead to a floating clutch, where it will not clamp down on high rev, quick shifts. 7) Suspension. The suspension is actually pretty decent, for a heavy car, but a sport tuned suspension will definitely help. And yes, the car is too high from factory. 8) Stock wheels are pretty heavy, but an aftermarket lighter set needs to be forged for any real track duty. Pressure cast aftermarket wheels with thin spokes will crack under extreme load.
@makaiokalahamaАй бұрын
You mentioned a new clutch system... what exactly are the issues with it & what system would you recommend? And where did you get your remote clutch reservoir kit from? I would like to address all the concerns you raised with my new 2010 2SS.
@herewegoagain...Ай бұрын
@@makaiokalahama The factory clutch's primary issue lies in the pressure plate, which, at over 6000 RPM, has a tendency to "float" (stay stuck open) ... which is to say, the pressure plate spring cannot overcome the forces exerted on the plate from the high spin rate. This causes the system to act as though the clutch pedal was stuck to the floor, despite having let off of it, making the Engine spin free of the transmission. I went with a monster clutch twin disc system, which I bought, along with the reservoir, from Tick performance. The twin disc effectively doubles the surface area of friction, thereby giving you much better grip, with a relatively stock pedal feel. CAUTION: If you buy that system, make sure you follow Monster's instructions, NOT Tick's or Chevrolet's... the torque specs are higher for the monster clutch. Also, I would recommend the stock clutch master cylinder. Tick's aftermarket one is nicely made, but because of the diameter change, makes the pedal much firmer. In the Camaro specifically, the pedal is setup with an inconvenient fulcrum point right before engagement, causing it to be susceptible to popping the clutch... this issue is exacerbated by the aftermarket master cylinder.

I do love that hood. I don’t know if I’d cut into mine, but I’d maybe buy another hood and cut into it. I like to keep things stock usually (aside from things like the intake, which isn’t hard to store the stock parts).

@gvaspirated2 жыл бұрын
sorry for late reply bro. muffler deletes will be the cheapest way to be loud as hell. but the drone gets pretty bad, you could maybe start with doing cat deletes? it might smell a little. your safest bet is to do headers or axle back system. costlier but safest and wont compromise comfort.

@HexBread3 жыл бұрын
Just deleted mufflers, we good without being egregiously loud. MBRP axle back kit was used. Comes with 1 hangar finger instead of 2... so you need to impact that shit with one hand and hold everything together with the other. Still worth with the extra 3 tries to line it up. 7.5/10

That exhaust wrap on your intake is going to heat soak it, it’s meant for retaining heat. You need heat reflective tape. Just cut my hood too, my average coolant temps went from 208 down to 198-200!
@gvaspirated4 жыл бұрын
Wouldn't it make reduce the overall engine bay heat? I'll be looking at the reflective tape tho. Thank you!
@AMessy-vm6ws4 жыл бұрын
Well the intake doesn’t produce heat, if your going to wrap the intake the objective is to keep it as cold as possible so you want something that will reflect heat not retain it. Once the engine warms up the intake the exhaust wrap is helping it stay warm instead of cooling off. Look into some offset diff bushings as well since your lowered. It will correct your axle shaft angle reducing wheel hop and greatly decrease the sloppyness in the drivetrain.
@gvaspirated4 жыл бұрын
@@AMessy-vm6ws Dude, thank you for the clarification. I'm going to order the tape. So I'm looking into the offset Diff bushings. Are you aware of the HE ones? I saw them on what seems to be the only post regarding them on Camaro5. I noticed that when I floor my car, I get a loud thud from bottom of the car, and it kinda looks like the wheel hop. I'm for sure going to look into these dude. Did you install them on your car? Was it eeasy?
@AMessy-vm6ws4 жыл бұрын
Yeah I did the install myself I haven’t seen that brand I got pafdt from phastek. you can do it without disconnecting your axles there’s a post about it on camaro5. It’s just quite time consuming. After lowering my car 2in in the rear I had a constant vibration in the gas pedal on the highway, wheel hop, and clunking in the rear. After I slapped those offset bushings in it was a completely different car. some bmr trailing arms and adjustable toe rods will drastically help with sloppy feeling in the rear under hard acceleration🤙🏻

Must have I’m not a 100% about but... axle back I would recommend anyone to save a little longer and get a stainless set, does bring the overall quality of the car. My 2SS is equipped with he GM performance exhaust. Headers stainless is the what to go. I have AFE tri-y with high flow cats As far as handling my 2015 2SS is more than capable I did how ever got the MMRs like the one on this car but mine are polished, 20x10- with 305s front and 20x11- with 335s back, tires are Michelin sport cup... Nice ride bro, do you have any ride issues like bump steer or bottoming out the suspension with your set up?
