Not wanting your kids to date people outside of their race does not make you a racist. You could respect, and love other people without taking them to bed with you. It’s about trying to preserve your own culture or what you feel gives “your people” their identity. But it should not be because you think they are less than you. I have sons and daughters. If they decide to marry someone different I would support it it may be a surprise for a few minutes, but after that I would just be focusing on what type of PERSON he or she is. We can’t say for sure that the boyfriend doesn’t defend them in a real situation, this however is meant to see what random people who don’t know they are being filmed would do. JH how would you even try to make an argument about something like this. All I was saying is that while my parents were dating they probably went through something like this.

My wife is a black woman and sadly some people are just hateful and/or ignorant; it's definitely hurtful. However, love is strong than that, as you know, so I'm happy they didn't allow others to get in between that. Most people give you "the look" and it's no mistake as to what it means, but I'm okay with them silently fuckin off. Oddly enough, we live in GA and since we've been a couple, no one has ever used slurs, but when we got married in Colorado someone yelled something from their car as they were driving by. Granted, they clearly didn't have the balls to do it in person, so although that had me furious, I try not to let people that feel inferior get to me because who are they anyway? No one. It's most hurtful when it comes from family though.

@@niaweary7232 I`m truly sorry if I caused you any offence but I think you misunderstood what I was trying to say. What I meant was, my children are mixed-race, one has African heritage and the other has West Indian ancestry, so I have experienced first hand the hostility and bigotry that exists out there and I was empathizing with you, I wasn`t trying to be critical or challenge you in any way.

This really speaks to the latina woman's character because even though the actress was discriminating towards the girl, she said to the latina "you're ok". So she could've stopped talking. A lot of times if you're on the good side of resistance people tend to fold but she cared so much she was in tears. I was in tears because of how compassionate she was. That last lady was a fighter she gave me chills.

This isn’t how racism shows up for most black people. This show annoys me, it gives moral grandstanding trophies for protesting overt racism. It misleads the public on how racism appears in society. Racism for most of us (black ppl) shows up in higher prices, being kicked out of an establishment for being disruptive when we defend ourselves. It shows up in not even being scheduled in salons or our white partners being excluded from most white communities. It’s these same same people who protest overt racism but turn a hard corner to systemic racism and subversive racism which is how most black people experience oppression in the modern age. It’s redlining, the school to prison pipeline, education funding, healthcare access, the drug war, those systemic forms of oppression are what truly hurt black people not dumb blonds who say racist shit.

Tyra High So because it didn’t satisfy you and your arbitrary demands it’s “grandstanding”? GTFOH. If none of them white folks would’ve said anything you’d be the first one here talking about how white people never call each other out on their racism.
