It all depends on the bride and what she cordinate negotiations with the parents. Some parents may decide to hold a minimumal introduction , basic , which is a diiner of 50 people costing sh.4m = US$1,000 plus Daddy's mutwalo envelope ( sh.10,000 = $3.00 or any amount above as groom wishes) plus 2 kanzu - tonic white each cost about $4 x2= $8 plus local brew , 20 litres wchich cost around $20 plus Mummy's and senga( aunt) gomesi whcih cost around $50 each; and brides suitcase with lady's contents , whatever value- $100 + plus intertainers $300 but its an option plus brother in law's live rooster cock ( muko) $10. The rest is just to make it fancy, classy etc

I like the traditional dress - men and women. Good to see a different African wear as most foreigners are only familiar with that mostly worn in West Africa. The function was well documented and explained and shows how dowry/introduction ceremony happens in Africa (different tribes different practices). This is not a wedding in the western sense so wedding coming later. That said, this occasion is considered more important in African culture than even the wedding in church, mosque, and in rare occasions at court usually overseas or if leaving. Thank you for including all the activities. Congratulations to the bride and groom and family members.

In Uganda this is called Kwanjula, which means "bride price". It's also called and Introduction Ceremony. This is when the groom pays the bride's father the dowry, and then the bride introduces the groom to her family, friends, and community.
