If you could turn up the volume I'd appreciate it. I can't turn up the volume on my phone higher.

@@lanceklessigregenerativeag7901 These kinds of cover crops and no till is impossible for the farmers here in europe

@@landwirtschaftkabelsketal9432 Perhaps I don't follow you ❓ ❗️ Perhaps you are referring to some different regulations regarding certain chemicals. That said the 5 soil health principles work in all cropland, grazing, range, garden settings. Maybe the space b/w our ears and what we are telling ourselves!

@@lanceklessigregenerativeag7901 wow ok lets talk. I do my best, my english is not so good. Yes I read the book dirt to soil and I agree that the 5 principles of soil health work around the world. But there are some problems. The farmers here want to till the soil. The knowledge of no till is not here. All say, you must till the soil, or your yields going downward. Everyone say this, the universities, the teachers, the neighbours. On my farm I use no till in the crops Winter wheat and oil seed rape with good results. But all crops or the whole farm in no till is very riskful. In 2023 the states of the EU will ban the glyphosat. Very difficult to establish no till and regenerative agriculture in a area with no live stock. And the people here hate chemicals. Very very difficult. I hope you understand my problems. Are you on instagram?

Did they use a good rate of Outlook herbicide or another pre on the conventional corn? Looks nice and clean but my advice for anyone trying skip row corn for the first time would be to stay with roundup ready or Liberty resistant corn. When giving up the most awesome weed control that is corn canopy one may still need other tools to manage as the cover may not always hold back the weeds across the whole field in my experience.

I'm not a farmer. However, I am curious as to the the expected benefits from these techniques of no till, cover crops, improved soil biology, water and carbon sequestration, etc. As a consumer and US citizen, what can I expect on see the next ten years re: air quality, water quality, topsoil depths, food prices, nutritional quality?

Have you had any problems planting green with corn and army worms? I’ve been using rye before beans, but have heard horror stories of army works taking corn after any type of “grass” type of cover
@lanceklessigregenerativeag79013 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question Mike! We’ve had relatively few issues here in the upper Midwest as of late with army worms and corn although yes it can be an issue. Scouting early and often along with some planning can go along ways. Where are you located? Thanks Lance

@@lanceklessigregenerativeag7901 I’m located in east central Illinois, near Danville, Il, not far from Rick Clark. I use cereal rye before beans, and I have used cow peas, following wheat before corn. I end up having volunteer rye before corn, but typically have it burnt off before planting because plenty of our neighbors have had army worm issues and nearly lost fields. I do not use insecticide and have predominantly non gmo corn as well
