'interspaces' signifies the pitch intervals in-between the monochromatic intervals of a 12 note octave. Prior practice and ear training with fixed pitch controllers helps to refine awareness of the movements and tensions within micro-pitch intervals. The Continuum is capable of extraordinary expressiveness in a very different and unbounded pitch/interval dimension.
Because the Continuum is not a fixed pitch instrument, we can explore the area of "dynamic pitch" -- meaning that the pitch-colors and intervals can change over the duration of a single, sustained note and chord. The Continuum Fingerboard has an onboard sound engine with a pitchbend range up to 96 (equal divisions of the octave?). Most VST sound sources can only implement a pitchbend range up to 24-48.

Was this really just done with a 12TET mapping + extreme precision? In that case I'm in even more awe than usual! Would be a great example of how much of musical conventions/limitations are in our heads, and not inherent to the Universe 😛

This should be the default of human music, because what’s in between the keys is truly human. This is one of the most surreal and beautiful compositions I’ve heard you make. Thank you for putting this out into the world. Cannot WAIT for Divisimate to be able to support polyphonic pitch expression and MPE so entire physically modeled orchestras can be controlled microtonally with the Continuum!!

I love your microtonal music, it feel it does focus more on the texture of interference between the difference pitches. Thank you so much for your music!

I'm trying to approach very high pitch-resolution music initially through emphasis on contrast. It seems like we initially hear micro-pitches as merely quality or timbral-like differences, rather than as distinct pitches. The motion created through the interaction of micro-intervals within a larger chord construct is an inspiring area to explore! After a while, listening/practicing, a perspective shift happens and chromatic/modal music starts to sound like it is missing other possible sonic dimensions and interactive movement.

@@dolomuse you use the word resolution a lot to refer to music other than 12 edo. What does that mean? The higher the resolution, the more notes per octave?

I watched the video where you compared the Linnstrument, Seaboard Rise, and Continuum, and found it very insightful. I'm currently planning a setup for professional microtonal music production and would love to get your advice. My idea is to use the Lumatone for its precise microtonal harmonic capabilities. For the more expressive and individual parts, I'm considering either the Linnstrument, the Seaboard Rise, or the Continuum. I'm looking for an instrument that can add maximum expressivity (like a violin or trumpet) but also handle different microtonal intervals effectively. Based on your experience, which of these instruments would you recommend for this purpose? Thanks in advance for your help!

They need to combine the visual display of the Lumatone with the Continuum. If you could change the lines to other temperaments to use as a guide at the push of a button, it would be incredible. Like, it really wouldn't be too far fetched to manage playing in large EDOs.
