I Always loved that sharp curve after the airport. When you see only the 4 skyscrapers in the distance.. especially at night.. it was like a premier of what’s next too come up ahead

Amazing stuff. Your Interstate 75 Atlanta night video remains one of my favourite KZbin vids of all time

I-85 in Gwinnett County, GA is my favorite part of I-85 in Metro Atlanta. It's a busy route for drivers going to Atlanta heading south as a working commute and the Mall of Georgia to the north as a shopping commute.

Great Drive thru I-85 in Atlanta!

It's been a long time since your last video from Georgia. Atlanta indeed does have a few problems with their highways, as they have a very limited transit system which doesn't even serve most of the urban aera & dspide having very wide highways, they never added additionals highways since their original 1950s highway plans. But despite this, traffic flows relatively well outside rush-hours & peak travel periods

Atlanta is a very sprawling metropolis. Thanks for the comment.

What an absurd waste of space in the middle of downtown. I find it incredible that the transportation planners of the day thought it was a good idea to send 2 interstates and 12 lanes of traffic straight through downtown Atlanta, instead of say, anywhere else in the metro area. Now they're saddled with a massive congested freeway for the rest of time. Good drive though.

Right; every city in America with the exception of Manhattan has a freeway "conveniently" slicing through downtown. 🤔

They might have built it going into downtown so that people could get to work downtown. I spent more than 20 years commuting to downtown Atlanta. Most of the time I took an express bus from the suburbs - I lived in a direction MARTA rail does not go….

There is wiki called “the Atlanta Freeway Revolts” that answers all of your questions. 75/85 was not the only North/South freeway to be constructed inside of 285.

If you could move a congested freeway to a different place, one thing is guaranteed: it would still be a congested freeway.

Sheesh you drove pass the traffic. I-85/75 has some terrible traffic. I wasn't so lucky to pass it fast ....

Great drive! Is there American car manufacturer in Canada including General Motors?
@AsphaltPlanet14 ай бұрын
I’m not sure what you’re asking, are you asking if there is automotive manufacturing in Canada? If so, yes. All of the big 3 Detroit automakers manufacture in Canada, and specifically in Ontario. Other European and Asian automakers also manufacture here.

Interstates 85 and 285 used to have a concurrency

You're talking about the one near the airport. The 85 is now between the sides of the 285 near the airport.

Atlanta isn't a bad place to visit. I've been a few times, though not since this video was recorded. Thanks for the comment.
