I remember first visiting Oylimpic National Park in the summer 1980 when I was 13 years old. Back then you could see the Pacific Ocean along US 101. Today the Ocean is obstructed by all the trees.

Only three areas of North Hwy 101 in Washington has the view of the Pacific Ocean. Kalaloch Beach, Pacific Beach - Ocean Shores, and Westport- Grayland are the only part of the highway that hugs the ocean. The rest are inland. The trees have been there for decades. The highway is part of the National Park. The trees don't grow much along the beach. It's very dormant. The views of the ocean never changed. I live here and go clam digging quite often.

I’ve driven this part of US 101 twice before. Thick forest.

Oh, the irony…you’re driving through the wettest place in the country and there’s not a cloud in the sky!

The video was uploaded 2 days ago 9-17-24? But the gas price says $5.35😮 I live here, it's 3.65 at Safeway. There's a gas station in Humptulips. 18 miles from Hoquiam on highway 101.

The National Park actually starts at North Shore Road Amanda Park. The highway 101 at Kalaloch is where you start driving through the park. The Amanda Park and Lake Quinault area have over 1200 people living in the area.

@@wt9653does that include Neilton ?

@marklane61 Neilton has no gas station. Amanda park has a gas station. There's also a gas station across from the Lake Quinault Lodge.
