SO in BCC Td voids are part of Oh voids?
@rajeshprasad1014 жыл бұрын
Surprising, but true! An OH void in a monatomic BCC crystal consists of four TH voids. Despite this, the atom that can fit in TH void is larger than the atom can fit in the OH void!!

Sir,cant able to understand about distorted tetrahedral..kindly guide
@introductiontomaterialsscience2 жыл бұрын
In a regular tetrahedron all six edges are equal in length and all faces are equilateral triangles. In the tetrahedron for BCC the two edges are of length 'a 'and four of 'sqrt[3] a'. The faces are not equilateral but isosceles triangles with two sides of 'sqrt[3] a' and one side of 'a'. In this sense they are distorted, meaning 'not regular'. [edit: Not 'sqrt[3] a' but 'sqrt[3] a/2']

Hema Chandra Reddy I repeat it again .. There are no REGULAR * TETRAHEDRAL VOIDS in BODY CENTERED CUBIC LATTICE... But the collection of two irregular tetrahedral void is what we see as the octahedral voids. We can explain all the voids saying that there are a total of 6 octahedral voids in a unit cell . Rather than perceiving the same void as collection of two irregular tetrahedral voids we should look at it as one regular octahedral void.
