The KISS happens on page 107. I know exactly where so I can reread it again and again - and see it in my mind's eye with the movie version as the background.

The timing of the kiss after the dialogue was a break-through moment when ego dominates superego allowing derepression and the freeing of his worst homophobic restraints. Tyler's voice, warmth, affection, saying I care enough not to censure your worsts because my caring is nascent love.
