INTERVENTION! Baby pigeon not getting enough food?

Here is a look at two different times during 2024 breeding season we had to intervene with the parenting/feeding of our baby racing pigeons. One time required supplemental feeding using a syringe. The other time required the use of a foster pair of racing pigeons.

You can swap a youngster that is on hard food .. not milk .. with a pair on eggs .. with no problems .. have done it for many years .. do it often if either trying to take pressure off a pair and more youngsters .. esp if timing with the eggs at the beginning was wrong

i sadly didnt "catch" the size difference in time in one of my clutches... by the time i noticed the smaller baby was very stunted and unwell :(

What kind of plywood is your loft made of can you tell me that because iam going to build a loft and I don't know what kind of wood will be good. And if you know any ideas to make a cheap loft please also send those ideas 😊

@@GoalMalayalam1 1/4 inch plywood. Your loft does not need to be fancy. When I was a teenager I raced my young birds out of a modified rabbit hutch and they did great! The most important thing is to make sure there is a lot of ventilation and airflow.

Appreciate the update and you have some really amazing pigeons and that was a smart idea giving thw smaller pigeon a boost like that i have noticed thwrenis always that one nest mate that gets more then the other one good luck with the one loft races this year 🤞🏼🙏🏼🏆🧬🪽🪽
