This got me curious so I looked up rulings on how counterspell works and while you are technically correct in that counterspell specifically mentions sight I would argue it should still work. Heres why: While it does specify that you need to see the creature casting a spell based on the consensus around counterspell interacting with various factors like subtle spell, which way you are facing, verbal components only spells, etc. it seems to me that the actual requirements are: 1. Perceive that someone is casting a spell 2. Locate the caster 3. Have them be within your line of sight Creatures with blindsight can still cast spells that require sight. If it actually was so specific it would open up a ton of questions like, What If a spell only has verbal components but their mouth is covered? That way you dont See them casting the spell, only hear it, but you know its coming from them. What If their whole body is covered? What If they are behind a thin sheet of fabric and you can only see their silhouette? Does that count as seeing them? What If its a thick sheet of fabric? Does that already count as cover? In order to not have to deal with questions like that I think its best that If you can perceive that a spell is being cast, where its coming from, where the caster is and the caster isnt behind cover/in your line of sight, you should be able to counterspell it. Edit: Actually I take back what I said. After looking Into it even further it seems that things like tremorsense specifically dont count as actual sight, even If you can pinpoint someones location. And blindsight specifically mentions things like echolocation. So just being aware of where a person is, even If you can precisely pinpoint it, isnt enough to "see" them. While it could still theoretically be possible for the Nosferatu to maybe have echolocation I doubt they do since Gus only mentioned their passive perception and no other abilities. Although I am still curious as to what the actual in universe logic behind these mechanics are as it still requires someone to be within line of sight/not in cover despite not technically requiring actual sight to function.

@@tobiasbayer4866 I’m not “technically” correct rules as written it says and I quote “ a creature you can see cast a spell within 60ft” not perceive and blind sight would only apply if the target were in range of blind sight witch is usually around 10ft and sometimes 30+ft on rare occasions but this ruling comes down to Gustavo’s interpretations of the rules as he is the Dungeon Master

I already updated my comment while you answered, lol. I was unaware that "sight" doesnt just literally mean vision and is instead more of a technical term in DnD that specifically includes some things and exlcudes others despite it all being about perceiving things.
