Loggins and Messina should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Their body of work, including live performances, is certainly deserving. Messina is one of the great unsung heroes of the guitar and mandolin.

Those first three Poco albums were wonderful. Messina had a great guitar tone with them.

Hi there John, Great interview as always. Yes, Buffalo Springfield legendary band... with way too many talented people in one unit.... that is bound to last for a limited time. We have many to look as examples.. the Beatles, the Eagles, Fleetwood Mac. A shame that egos show their weary heads. Neil was such a legend as was Stephen Stills. A shame because they caught lightning in a bottle for those three epic albums of theirs. God bless you John for all you do to keep us informed. Tino

It’s interesting to see what Jim has had his hands on. Also the times. Today It would be hard for a young person getting a steady paycheck to pull up roots in search of a maybe. The Buffalo Springfield were one of the great rock bands of the 60’s. Their individual and collective raw talent would be hard to duplicate today. But hey, they wouldn’t make it on American Idol. Looking forward to part 3. Thank you John. I love the Buffalo Springfield. God bless.

Don't get me wrong I'm a huge Jim fan. he's been a major influence on my own style of playing and still is... but how can he mention B.S. and its the members, then POCO and then L +M and not even mention Richie Furay ? very odd----

Drummer?

Dewey Martin

Dewey had a big smile that was contagious, and kept the band's three guitar leads, (Furay, Stills, Young), groundes. Sort of like Ringo Starr did w/Beatles!

Always wondered about Dewey. Long ago, a friend related a story about him. She and her boyfriend were living on Maui, they were hitching a ride to the other side of the island, and Dewey Martin obliged. The ride was fast and "action packed," as Martin calmly explained how he should have been a race car driver.
