I was watching an interview from the Chateau Marmont hotel in 2001. It occurred to me that 5 years prior, John was in the Chateau bone-thin and shooting up. 5 years later, he's back at the same place recording an album with the Chili Peppers. What a comeback!

@@incognito13567 On the one hand, it's obvious that Anthony's not the most skilled musician in the band and that he obviously got popular because of the other guys and a unique combination or singing and rapping, rather than talent or skills, because he wasn't really good when they started out. On the other hand, looking at where he was during the 80s and how good he got very quickly since the mid 90s, I think he's massively talented and a very determined, hard-working person. He practically couldn't sing when the band just started and he had no musical abilities whatsoever. Now, he can write great and catchy melodies, has a reasonable vocal range that is more than good enough for the band and he can improvise without being out of key. Anthony's a good singer. Not a maestro and not even as good as John or Josh in terms of technical abilities, but you simply cannot say that's he's terrible and untalented. He wouldn't have improved as much if he didn't have any gift. Yes, Anthony's a hit or miss singer in live performances and he uses autotune in studio recordings but he can also sound very good and perfectly in key on a good day. Watch studio outtakes, popular live performances, or the 2005 version of Under The Bridge. He sang the song better than in the studio version because he simply sat down, immersed himself in the music and didn't have to worry about being an entertaining frontman by jumping around everywhere.

@@incognito13567 he's not kidding. he may not be the best vocalist/singer ever but he definitely is talented in writing. he's an AMAZING song writer. also, he took singing lesson in BTW era so his vocals were really good in that era. (and also in SA era too.)

He pretty much just turned his life around from a point to where he was fighting such a brutal heroine addiction to now where he's writing some of the most beautiful songs i've heard. One of the most underrated song writers of our generation for sure. so much emotion going into it. just fuckin awesome

nah he was in certain cases. if you watch nowhere boy, you'll see growing up he had a lot of anger cause his childhood pretty much sucked. After the beatles got a little of fame and eventually when he met yoko, he was much happier. If you're referring to the videos where he has 'bad patience' that's just because those videos show engineers not doing what they're supposed to. it's the same as in the video where flea yelled at a basstech for not having his bass ready
