Xie Lian, the crown prince of Xian Le Kingdom, successfully ascends to Heaven during his third trial despite of successive demotions. However, he accidentally breaks the Gold Palace of heavenly officials. With no human worshiping him, Xie Lian has to descend to the secular world to exorcise ghosts, which may help him sustain his divinity. During his adventure, Xie Lian encounters two heavenly officials and a mysterious young man in red. TRANSLATION Part 1 Qn 1: What do you think of San Lang? Ans: San Lang in the animation gives an impression that he knows everything and is calm and mysterious. However, I don't think he intentionally hides anything in front of Dian Xia because he feels that Dian Xia will be able to see through him. The animation also emphasises on San Lang's contrast in character - he may seem carefree usually but cares for Dian Xia, and has a more controlled side of him. We can also see that in both the original novel and animation, San Lang is like a tour guide who knows everything and is even good at house chores! He's a remarkable youth~ Qn 2: How about Hua Cheng? Ans: Ahh, Hua Cheng - Crimson Rain Sought Flower - is a strong and powerful ghost king who instills fear in the realm of humans, deities and ghosts. He's not afraid and does not care much for anything except for Dian Xia. However, he still has a mischievous side of him when he's with Dian Xia. After all, he's younger. The driving force of his actions stems from his beliefs in Dian Xia; no matter what Dian Xia does, Hua Cheng supports him and this is very moving. Qn 3: What challenges have you faced when voicing San Lang? Ans: I personally feel that it's a more complicated role because San Lang is happy to be with Dian Xia, but at the same time, has to keep his distance and it's quite difficult to capture this feeling. Even one sentence can take a long time to work it out. Qn 4: What's your first impression of the animation? Ans: It is very well done and I was worried at first that my voice would not measure up to the exquisite animation but I'm glad it turned out well. Qn 5: What's your most memorable line? Ans: "VA reads out the line about ashes given out to a loved one". This sentence could be voiced in many different ways and it was especially difficult so we spent quite a bit of time adjusting the tone and expression. Qn 6: Say something to everyone. Ans: Thank you everyone for watching Heaven Official's Blessing, and hope to get your continued support from now on too. I wish everyone a good fortune like San Lang!

He seems like a mysterious person and I think he doesn’t have a lot of things that he has to deliberately hide from His Highness. He (San Lang) thinks that no matter how he hides something, his highness would see through it so whether or not he ( Xie Lian ) knows the truth or not it doesn’t matter. And the donghua more strongly shows the two different personalities he has. So basically although most of the time he has a joking and carefree manner, but there are times when with his highness he will take care of him (Xie Lian) and show his more caring side. Ok this takes longer than I thought so I’ll just leave it as this. (I’m sorry for the bad grammar English isn’t my first language and I don’t have the mental energy left to edit this 😭😭😭) Edit: ok turns out boredom does a number one u so I'll continue with a more vague translation: We can see that San Lang is always like a tour guide and no matter where he goes he is able to explain the background of the places/objects/people. At the same time he is good with doing house chores and physical work. He is a very talented (teenager?) For real your voice acting LITERALLY NAILED IT. YOU JUST SLAYED IT! Your voice and Xie Lian's voices are a perfect match made in the heavens by heaven official's blessings for the respective characters. The lines in the novel were very good but they were only words. I used to wonder what they would sound like. BUT YOUR VOICE. YOU gave those lines life. Like those lines can be compared to beautiful but empty vessels and your voice is the soul. I cannot think of another soothing, mischievous, serious, carefree, very caring, charming voice. Love your hard work and your voice is naturally very beautiful!!! Very few could do it as good as you. Even if they could, your voice fits San Lang just so damn well.
