When I first watched The Muskateers he annoyed me but on second viewing he is an absolute treat to watch!

He's one of my favorite characters in this show. I love how different his role is from other kingly roles. He shows a little more humanity than others. How he loves his Queen 👑 And he even cares for a child that he knows deep down isn't his.

Ryan is a very, very intelligent actor. The way he developed Louis' character from the immature indulged buffoon in Season 1 to the traumas of Season 2 and then becoming the mature, world weary and wiser father of Season 3 was impressive. I don't think there's been a more nuanced and complex portrayal of Louis XIII.
