As a long-term investor, a lot of your gains are unrealised as you want to hold onto compounders for many years. Case in point: A lot of Buffett's gains are unrealised. Hope this explains!

Actually if you realise, Adam is older in age and may not have a long runway (maybe 10-20 years) before he expires Comparatively to a younger investor with 40-50 years down the road before he/she expires, the probability of Tencent rebounding to its glorious days and returns compounding to a huge sum are higher compared to him So prolly thats why he is making this move
