she reminds me so on my conducter when i was a child. she was so awsome. she told us how to sing. she told us how to play brass instruments . she played guitar- piano, the flute just any instrument and of corse the organ. One day we visited a church with two organs who could be combined . i never will forget the goosbumps sitting in this church and listening to her.

Hi, great interview and on the fly learned something, I'm still in the learning curve, to mix and master music or pieces. Last year, I did a project for Brent Fischer, with the song "Stav - Hold On" a classic piece. And you are right, instruments do breath. I was a little puzzled about that fact, in pop, we cut everything out that is annoying or causing problems in the track, with this production, I did the same. With a disastrous end result. So I started all over again, as this was my first classic production. But this time, with those breaths, controlled, in the mix. And a little help from a friend, that only does classic productions. Marc Schellekens from Delta Music Belgium. I must say, I underestimated that kind of music, which I also love.

It’s been a long time since I conducted for performances, but I loved it and can relate to the many points raised, including the time when I made a conducting error that could have brought the performance to a halt if I hadn’t thought quickly on my feet what to do to hold it all together. Her emphasis on having the singers and musicians enjoy what they are doing is key. If you don't enjoy it you won't perform it well, and the audience will definitely pick up on that.

Pourquoi? En France les écoles et leur système sont complètement différentes que les écoles publiques et indépendantes aux Etats Unis et en Angleterre. Je crois que cette difference est fondamentalement au cause de la revolution française. En Amérique notre revolution était aidée par les forces françaises. Dans ce milieu l’Indépendance d’Amérique était une chose d’Economie et de la pouvoir de la gouvernance. À l’île Angleterre, il n’y avait pas une revolution contre l’organisation sociale, contre le monarchie et le niveau aristocratique. Donc, les écoles françaises sont un produit d’une organisation sociale mèritocratique, pas une de privilege ou moniale. En Amérique la musique aux écoles publiques est maintenant pratiquement pas existant. C’est une chose administratif dans laquelle les autorités pensent que les sujets comme la mathématique, les sciences, l’histoire, les langues, et cetera sont plus importants que les arts. C’est une situation dans laquelle les élèves des écoles publiques sont souseducées . Ils ne savaient pas quelque chose de l’opera, de la musique ou de les instruments orchestrales. Il manque les arts comme le peinture, le sculpture ou les arts digitales. C’est dommage. Aux écoles privats, les arts sont florissants, . Donc dans notre pays un étudiant qui peut la violon ou la cello, l’orgue, la piano ou l’harpe probablement vient une famille qui ont une niveau d’education and de la richesse relativement grande. Peut-être la situation aux arts dans les écoles en Grand Bretagne est pratiquement la meme aux États Unis. En Amérique notre système sociale est de plus en plus fait par la monnaie. Politiquement les peuples riches, le niveau plus haut, les plus hautes 1% ont plus richesse que complètement nous autres. Nous n’avons pas une monarchie, mais notre système capitalistique ne distribue pas les resources économiques dans une maniere

I can assure you, as a Dutch person with singing skills, l got accepted perfectly in the professional British cathedral singing circuit purely because of my desire and commitment to sing and the "priviledged, cloistered coterie" sighted by you are mostly a self-assumption

Talking rubbish. I went to a non selective, south london, comprehensive school of nearly 2000 boys. Our musical tradition was second to none being recipients of one Grammy, being in Grammy nominated recordings of at least two others add to that a Palm D’or. We had pieces written for us by Britten and recorded with Deutsch Gramophone, Pavarotti, Domingo et al and this is all in the public domain.
