@UrsineBenn I really dont see all the comparisons to Joy Division outside of Paul Banks' voice but i do see the cure comparisons.... Joy Division had more of an edgy punk element to their music to me.... Where Interpol is more melodically driven and more dance friendly than JD, a characteristic they share with the Cure...
