Interview With Curtis Childs On The Amazing Discoveries of Emanuel Swedenborg

I really loved this interview with Curtis Childs. You may know Curtis from his KZbin channel Off The Left Eye which discusses Emmanuel Swedenborg.
I am fascinated with Emmanuel Swedenborg a Swedish pluralistic-Christian theologian, scientist, philosopher and mystic from the 1700s who is best known for his book on the afterlife, Heaven and Hell
Swedenborg had a prolific career as an inventor and scientist. In 1741, at 53, he entered into a spiritual phase in which he began to experience dreams and visions,. His experiences culminated in a "spiritual awakening" in which he received a revelation that Jesus Christ had appointed him to write The Heavenly Doctrine to reform Christianity.[According to The Heavenly Doctrine, the Lord had opened Swedenborg's spiritual eyes so that from then on, he could freely visit heaven and hell to converse with angels, demons and other spirits, and that the Last Judgment had already occurred.
Over the last 28 years of his life, Swedenborg wrote 18 published theological works-and several more that remained unpublished.
Curtis Childs is one of the foremost experts on Swedenborg. While obtaining his degree in communication studies from Oakland University, Curtis experienced an internal battle with depression that led him to question God and his lifelong interest in Swedenborgian theology. After a period of intense suffering, he recovered from his depression with the help of modern medicine, therapy, and a return to the spiritually uplifting messages he found in Swedenborg’s writings. Now, Curtis is applying his education and desire to help others find peace through Swedenborg’s insights by producing and hosting this weekly webcast. He’s happiest when he can use Swedenborg’s concepts to help someone solve something they used to think was unsolvable.
Curtis has appeared on many international radio shows, podcasts, and KZbin shows, such as Talk Gnosis, Sunday Morning Spiritual, The Butterfly Moment, Dark Thirty Radio, We Don’t Die Radio, and has been a speaker at several conferences including TCCHE and IANDS.

I am forever grateful for OTLE and all the great people who worked together to make Swedenborg's writings accessible and understandable to those of us who might not otherwise "get it'. I was introduced to the teachings of E. Swedenborg through OTLE. Thank you Curtis and friends for this great gift, and thank you Brian for this interview. I have been on the spiritual path since my teens back in the 70's and had heard passing references to Swedenborg, but it wasn't until the OTLE you tube channel that I began exploring his works in earnest. You guys! 42:34 ish; it’s just his way of explaining 4th dimensionals so the humans on the planets as Brian pointed out that Casey said also, were other dimensional. The “mental processes” of the body would be fourth dimensionals’ yes? I think this Bo’s his metaphor and does explain why mama gaia incarnations are so earthen, so 2D and 3D? 🎉❤ this is a fantastic BODY of work!!! Wow.

I'm very grateful for this discussion, but I've got one thing to share that slightly contradicts a point that was made, but in a good way: It's true scientists have had to specialize in the recent past, but there's a great Ted Talk called *Why Falling Behind Can Get You Ahead* that agrees with Freeman Dyson, that it's okay to break out of that paradigm and be a Renaissance man or woman. In fact, the quest for generalized AI has helped motivate mathematicians to pursue a new mathematical language based on Infinite Category Theory that will get all of Science and Art talking to each other in the same precise language. And a scientist named Donald Hoffman is producing a new, mathematically precise theory of consciousness that's already proven some mind blowing conjectures--so soon, even the mystical realm can be explored scientifically, and this too will be in the language of Category Theory.

Regarding people saying Swedenborg was insane: I find those who do not do personal exploration, or meditation, but only live the "mundane life" -- these folks seem to immediately judge anyone who had an odd dream, or anyone who draws interestingly unusual art, or writes strange poetry, as "insane". I saw it a lot in the corporate world, where, behind the artsy people's backs, people whispered about their insanity. Halarious to me!

So, pretty much what Q'uo said: we choose service to selves or service to others and without a body to mask our choice we appear more clearly as demon manipulators or angelic helpers. I'm guessing that after further progress the demons eventually flip cuz they're on a road to nowhere otherwise, as Q'uo indicated.

Brian! So if one of the days Swedenborg lived was a 30th February 1712, there must of been at least one birth in Sweden on that day. Giving whoever that was a very unique birthday, but not only a unique birthday but also a unique 9 month Annunciation date 30th May 1711. I wonder if that had any influence on his 9 month thoughts which Curtis touched on in this interview. 30th and 31st May are known to me as none 9 month Annunciation dates, cos 30th and 31st February's do not generally exist. A sort of born at the right time in the right place to get that hint of knowledge. Just like me being in the chat at the right time and right place to catch France's fallen Star comment. 29th May is a 9 month Annunciation date only if you are born on a 29th February. 29th May is the fixed date for France's Mother's Day. 19th June is France's fixed date for Father's Day. France seen this falling star mid point between the 2.

Since the physical world isn't actually physical but more like a dream, what if we are already dead or we are never "alive"?

According to Swedenborg the physical world is the outermost layer and we experience the world through this vessel which is a container and conductor for your spiritual evolvment. Sorta like a butterfly cocoon. Try explaining to a fetus what the world is like outside the womb in their terms of understanding, they still have a life but their senses and conditions are much different than life outside the womb. I think life is like second womb in preparation for the next world
