Blast from the past! Hilarious. I remember seeing a bit of this years and years ago. Never saw the whole thing... painfully awkward. Sook Yin always seemed really random interviewing bands.. like she didn't prepare and would just ask spontaneous questions and try to have a conversation. Sometimes it made for a funny and interesting interview but it's really not working here. haha.

Remember when this first aired. That was a weird time. I dropped out too. Around after this Spice Girls, Mase & pdiddy started getting big and 90% of the world just wanted Kurt to come back to life for the next 25+ years of modern music.. what a weird fucking time. I had Much I&I Silverchair on VHS and air guitar for a good 2 years to it, so glad they kept going, had a bunch of GREEEEAT albums after Fstomp.

Newcastle (Regional town in Australia) was not a great place to be famous, especially as a kid who wasn’t an extrovert. Huge tall poppy syndrome in Australia (Not like the USA where you can tell people about your success) and there were no other exciting new Australian bands at the time, (Bands like Spiderbait were boring by comparison) So the paparazzi and media focused mostly on Daniel Johns.
