I understand the intrusive questions etc. It's probably whatever at this point. Like I said. I get it totally. BUT those people don't understand it. I get wanting to know about someone personally if you feel a connect thru art. you want to know about what makes them tick. BUT people don't step back and go. "is this a good thing to ask? Should I really ask this type of thing? Should I record this type of thing?" If I were to ask her any personal questions It'd be one or 2 quick lil things and respectfully. When I met nightwish last year. I had told her "I saw you here a couple years ago. And met you. You were really cool. I remember that vividly. You inspired me." and then I dropped it. kind words right? buuuuuuuuut, my wife, (who is behind me in line) goes *points at me* "has a crush on you" in a playful manner. she blushed and I blushed. and we laughed and I said thank you etc. that to me seems okay. its nothing too god awful and it's light hearted etc. THEN she met Marco. and flirted with him very lightly. I mean. to me, it's probably nice to hear that stuff. especially when it's very obviously innocent and people being suppper kind. NOW, I HAVE seen people ask super weird things. I personally watched someone go up to bill manspeaker of green jello and ask what size of condom he uses. that's a bit strange. but bill laughed and said extra small, I would offer you, but I'd need to shrink it in the dryer. LUL. I mean. some take it as fun. you know?

"When you celebrate your history, you don't start by re-writing it"...............absolute classy response from Floor to the question about re-recording the older songs. As Tuomas also said, it was never considered to re-record with Floor, the songs as they were recorded should be presented to celebrate the singers who sang them originally.

Tarja, Annette and their fans would have every right to be angry if Nightwish had the audacity to do this. Floor has surpassed Tarja and Annette's history in the band, and written some of her own: rewriting it entirely would be greedy to say the least.

This is what an interview with a great singer should be. Good questions, respectful silence until the answer is over and follow up questions that show the interviewer respects and genuinely enjoys the band's music as well as really listening to the responses rather than just trying to get through a checklist of questions. Floor looks like she was really enjoying speaking with this interviewer. She is relaxed and forthcoming. Great job.

Ahojte.

Though it's been said, I have an idea that perhaps Tuomas would get behind: Using a live orchestra. Yes, I know that it's been done already, but this is why it would be one night only. My idea is this: Since Tuomas already collaborates with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, my idea is to have one show at Wembley Arena. It's a large enough venue, AND Nightwish would not have to foot a massive bill to bring the orchestra to the stage. I only say this because, if possible, I could foresee that concert being more of a legend than either Wacken 2013 or Tampere 2015, or even Wembley 2016. I'm also curious as to what music/songs Tuomas would pick to play for that kind of performance. Again, it's only an idea...but given everything I've seen and heard, it seems like the two biggest criticisms are that: 1) It's already been done, and 2) the cost of bringing an orchestra to a show. I mean, why have the huge cost when you're playing in the orchestra's backyard, so to speak? Overall, though, good interview. You know a good interview when you see genuine respect for the artist/singer/front-person from the interviewer, and articulate, thoughtful answers from the one being interviewed.

@Daniel Idzikowski I haven't seen her live personally (I mean, I haven't been to her concerts) but judging from the professional footage we get, she gives off similar levels of charisma in terms of movement, pleasing the crowd with her high notes, capturing the lyrics, etc. . pretty much like Freddie Mercury. Although with Queen being my no.1 favorite band of all time, I'd naturally say nobody even comes close to emulating Freddie on stage or in the studio. But still, compared to other frontmen/women working in rock and metal, I think Floor is among the few who stand out.

I honestly appreciate how she approached Floor on to tour or do a special show with an orchestra. Floor is right. Its nothing special anymore. It may seen exciting to know it, but seeing it is a whole different thing. Metallica has played with an orchestra, Within Temptation, Epica, Therion, Evanescence, Sabaton and a various amount of artists have performed with an orchestra. I myself got to experience Evanescence with an orchestra twice and the first time was amazing. The second time, it was an already seen it, is there more type of thing. Not only with Evanescence live, but watching bands perform with a recording live is still not as exciting. I'm sure if not many bands had performed with an orchestra, Nightwish still wouldn't do the orchestra. I mean, they already sound 10/10 without it, so why bring more instruments and other people to the show(s)?

This is such a hypocrisy when it comes to NW. She’s been always telling that hearing NW for the 1st time was the reason to start the band and classical singing and now SUDDENLY she already had a band and used the lyrical singing... this is 21st century and everything said stays online either to confirm your personality or, like in this case, to shallow your own grave.
@amymorgan15486 жыл бұрын
Actually you are wrong. Floor has always been telling that it was The Gathering and Anneke Van Giersbergen who inspired her to form a band - it was never Nightwish.
