There needs to be this kind of training, crime scene preservation, taking pictures... how to collect evidence, measure grams of whatever, etc... but the administration wants us all to be just program runners/ facilitators . the little we know about forensics or learning and teaching our jobs in greater detail is better for upper-mngmnt to burn us..
@enavy583 ай бұрын
First. Find the best in house people you know. Share information and start cross training. No different than field training officer type stuff. It won't be pretty at first. But that's how you start. Subject Matter, Lesson Plans, In Service Training. You already have ISU through-out the state. Probably some of the best homicide investigation detectives. They're just not called that yet. And haven't developed a homicide unit. Statewide zones would work. PBSP and CSP would probably be your two best? DOJ already has the forensics services. They would probably rather teach you guys the process. Instead of coming in to do the work? Always easier to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission..

Interesting interview Hector. It sounds like Dan was assigned to the Corcoran Security Squad, during the same time frame when I was with Pelican Bay's Security Squad. Interesting stories.

This is by far one of your BEST interviews to date. 👍🏽 I think the numbers will definitely speak for themselves. The KNOWLEDGE, INSIGHT and EXPERIENCE that BOTH of you possess is impeccable. Both administrative and operational. You should explore the possibilities of starting a consulting firm? Dagenais would be another good addition. You could teach a lot of correctional officers a lot of critical skills (Tactics, Techniques and Procedures). Governments and professional associations would benefit immensely from this kind of knowledge.

I dumped a large garbage bag of pruno in a grey plastic garbage can. The ZOMBIE was taking a shower. I asked him to clean that garbage can for me while he was in the shower. I told him he could have extra longer day room. He said sure sir. After he cleaned it he went back to his cell then he realized it was his pruno.

I worked as a county jail correctional officer from '82-'85, then started at Soledad in '85, and continued working for CDC unril I retired 32 years later. I guess I'm really og? There were only 13 prisons when I started... Anyway, I'm super thankful I retired healthy and now live in a Red/free state, though the liberal cancer is spreading here too.

Good ole Peter’s…I worked with him once in a while at KVSP after his ISU days. He’s definitely one of those solid cops you wanted when shit popped off. I remember an incident in one of the ASUs, we were bringing yard back in and just put some southerners in the cell. I took the cuffs off one of them and as soon as his cell mate stuck his hands out the food port, the dude took off on him. Peter’s was right there with me and as I was about to use my OC, he grabs my OC and sprays the dude!!! Either way I still was writing. It’s funny he brought up the folding of inmates clothes after searching, I started in 01 and when we opened KVSP in 05…we would be doing mass searches due to all the major incidents. I seen the same thing with the new cops coming in and I would tell them…we don’t need to fold their clothes, just put everything on their bunk after we search.
