I had the honor and privilege to meet Gary and talk to him a few times at several meet and greets, and every single time he was the absolute same man every time and spoke to my wife and I like he known us our whole lives, always so kind and humble never ever for getting where he came from and who helped him get to where he is especially his FreeBird brothers, he is the definition of a SimpleMan, never once did he ever act like the Huge Legend rock star that he really is, just so down to earth it really blew my mind, always willing to take pictures, Rest Easy Gary Rossington your finally pain free and back with your brother's and sister up on the most beautiful Golden stage up in heaven with that beautiful 59 LesPaul beside Ronnie. Thank you Gary for all the riffs and solos and lyrics that has become a part of so many people's daily lives, you and your band will live forever!!!

He doesn't have to talk or answer anyone's questions...but he's a sweetheart so he tries..AND he tries to keep a sense of humor when he's clearly uncomfortable. No one suffered more than Allen..but GOTDAM..you don't survive all that he has without immense suffering of your own. You can bet he felt Allen's pain on top of it..then he lost him, too! But fortunately it was only 2 years after that last date that I quit that bullshit(January, 2000)! Unfortunately I STILL messed around with coke on and off til Sept 2002, when I finally FULLY wised up and put it all behind me(with the exception of a few minor fails).
