..so how exactly do I get from been the ludicrous player that I am to been as good as these GMs. They find these moves quickly and are taking me into very unknown territories.

If you are a ludicrous player, you would at the very least need to do exactly what these players have done for the past 15 to 18 years for the next 15 to 18 years to reach their level. Since you probably don't have their level of talent, desire, work ethic, hunger and drive to succeed, you would likely not be able to do exactly what they have done in the same amount of time to achieve the exact same result, which is greatness. Your best option would be to do it all by spending much more time than them. Are you willing to devote 20 to 30+ years of your life to achieve(hopefully) what they have achieved in half that time? If so, I would certainly root for you. Lol.
