Kenya's Olympic marathon champion and defending champion Eliud Kipchoge is back for a fourth time, seeking his third title and a personal best time.
Former world record holder Wilson Kipsang, who lowered the world order in 2013, will also attempt his second title in five years. Eritrean Zer-senay Tadese is also eyeing his maiden title. The women's race will see defending champion Gladys Cherono of Kenya going head-to-head with compatriot Edna Kiplagat and Ethiopia's Tirunesh Dibaba, Ase-le-fech Mergia and Ruti Aga.
