Dr Dylan gives off a genuinely perfectionist vibe, a great friendly and knowledgeable guy, I'd be happy to go to him if I needed a transplant. I don't think people realise how certain features can totally affect how you feel about yourself. I lost a lot of hair during menopause, so I struggled with the hair on my head thinning so much you could see my scalp in some places, but what I hadn't thought through was my eyebrows!! I'm not someone who can draw them on. Then in the end I had them microbladed, and the relief of having my face framed again was intense! The plus side is I don't have to shave arms or legs lol. 😍

Liam's point about surgeons or doctors lacking bedside manner is on point. I was SAd as a child and so i _hate_ when random people touch me. I was t-boned at an intersection by a guy going full speed through a red light and hit my driver door in like 2013. i was also rear-ended a couple of years ago totaling my work vehicle. As a result, my neck and back are really screwed up. I was getting some shots in my spine to help alleviate some of the pain, and they put you under anesthesia while they do it, because it goes directly into the spine. When i went i was wearing a sports bra and the person who initially got me prepped said i could keep my bra on, but it was covering the area where they were going to do the injection so the doctor said i had to take at least the straps down. I was trying to do it underneath the gown and this lady apparently didn't think i was doing it fast enough, so she started grabbing at me to "help." She almost got punched. I was crying out of sheer rage, and luckily the lady who prepped me before stepped in and pulled her away, clearly seeing how badly that affected me. I hate being just another cash cow for doctors. I was also scheduled to grt ACL replaced at one point by a doctor who knew in advance i was going out of state afterward on my winter college break, but on _the day_ of surgery he told me i couldn't go because i would need PT. I elected not to do the surgery and later found out that if he had done it, it could have ruined my knee because i had zero range of motion in my leg at the time. He just wanted more money before christmas, basically. The fact that so many doctors lack any sort of compassion is also the reason i don't ever go to the gyno because I'm afraid of getting one who doesn't, even though i desperately need to see one because my cycle made me severely anemic and nearly killed me recently.

A good surgeon cuts well. If you’re looking for someone to hold your hand and give you their shoulder to cry on, pay a counselor. A surgeon’s job is to cut. You need them to be nice, too? Grow up. And if you’re so unstable that pulling down a bra strap is difficult, that’s on you. Get the emotional help you need, and stop blaming the world for not caring about your feelings.

I'm an extension specialist. When doing that type of extension it has a tension that isn't always super comfortable. It could be that there was to many placed to closely or just like the dr stated your scalp still healing. As far as being capable to do anything to it you can do whatever you want. Just keep the tension light. I would try Tape-ins as they tend to be lighter and have less propensity to cause intense tension on your hair.

I absolutely adore you two! Alexis, you are so genuine and honest. And Liam, you are just SO sweet! I love you two together. And this was such a cool video to watch! What an amazing doctor, who seems to truly love his job as an art ❤ what a kind guy! I wish all doctors seemed this passionate and excited about what they do ☺️ I just broke my leg Saturday (at 30, first broken bone 😅), and I'm so nervous to start vetting surgeons!! Why can't all doctors be this wonderful?

Years ago Kalvin Garrah gave some passing tips for FTMs to shave the corners of your hairline, to create that M shape. He said "If you go a little to far to where it looks like you're balding, you're probably just gonna pass more as male." I'm a native american transman and a metalhead so I've never seen long hair as an exclusively feminine thing, a lot of my favorite rock singers have long hair and look badass, and in native culture long hair on men represents represent strength and power, so shaving that M shape into my hairline really helps my dysphoria and I get to keep my long goth hair. imo the length of your hair is incidental, there are plenty of women with short hair and plenty of men with long hair, that doesnt make or break anything when it comes to passing, its really your hairline that masculinizes or feminizes you, which is what causes hair based gender dysphoria.

My cousin had a hair transplant in London. She paid A LOT because she didnt want to do it in Turkey. Her was because of too much manipulation and heat damage from years of styling. She said it was the most traumatic experience of her life 😂 but she is very dramatic.

I’ve known many women who struggled with hair loss, and the cost to them. And this is just one example. It angers me that these services are popping up everywhere for men, transitioning, when women could and should have benefited from this first. FFS? Do you know how many y women with PCOS could benefit from FFS? But it’s not been offered. I’m sick of it. I’ve seen trans women jump the queue for breast surgery, whilst women awaiting reconstruction after cancer are pushed down the list. I’m glad these services are available to you. But women have been restricted and denied for a millenia. I’d appreciate you taking a back fucking seat until all women’s surgical needs are met. Sorry, not sorry.
@peanutbutterbruv3 ай бұрын
They are literally everywhere for women. Maybe it's just where you live, I'm from London and live in a small Portuguese city and both have various places offering these services to women.
@alijane66753 ай бұрын
@@peanutbutterbruvIt’s not the availability, it’s the expense. These services are routinely covered by insurances for trans women, but not for women with hormonal issues. That is my point.
@Alexis_blake003 ай бұрын
I think you need to back off and not be telling me to take a back seat. I think your comment is extremely rude and very assumptious . FFS is available to me because I’m paying for it myself privately! Not through insurance or the NHS for that matter! Me & Liam have paid for all my surgeries I have had so far!
@alijane66753 ай бұрын
@@Alexis_blake00 My comment was in reference to women for whom insurance would not cover these procedures, thereby excluding you from it. I appreciate that I said ‘you’ take a back seat, but I was referencing the collective, not you personally. I’ll grant my wording was awkward. But, I’m not sure why you’re so offended? But telling me to back off? Is hella aggressive. I’ve supported you on various platforms for months, but that’s a step too far for me. Your response belies is your sweet demeanor. Best of luck, but I’ll back off by backing out of supporting you.
@peanutbutterbruv3 ай бұрын
@@alijane6675 I came back here to defend Alexis and I'm chuffed to see her do it herself and not need some internet random to do it for her, but I'm still weighing in nonetheless. Your argument is with the American Insurance System, not Alexis. You are taking out your justified anger on the system forced on you on a person who has done nothing to warrant it. Are you really surprised Alexis responded in kind? You didn't just bemoan the experiences of American women with hormonal conditions who can't get hold of such treatments, which would be fair. You said that Alexis should take a backseat despite the fact in Europe all of these treatments are paid for privately and said it in a nasty, aggressive manner. Trans women are often willing to spend a lot more on such treatments than women. If Alexis is willing to pay the price of a tropical holiday for this and others are not that is simply different people making different financial choices. I'm GC, a lot of the nonsense happening in the States is insane. That doesn't mean you verbally attack a trans woman on the internet, especially one who doesn't engage in any of that.

Getting a professional to talk about a procedure doesn’t make it endorsement. To talk about a medical procedure, it’s better to ask a medical professional who does said procedure.
