Rob is so full of life in this interview. I wish he was still with us, fully healthy. We miss him big time.

I did meet him in about 1998 as we opened for him & his Grassroots. We talk shortly in the RV that was provided to the entertainment. I really enjoyed that moment.

Rod Grill was at Camel Rock Casino in early 2000's and put on probably one of the best shows I had ever seen. He had great energy and repoire with the audience.....I would say the Grassroots were well loved by American fans, maybe only the Beach Boys could compare to their fun, lively, and optimistic music.

One of my all time favorite bands, they need to be inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

I inquired about the same thing and the Hall of Fame people won’t do it and they said they already answered that question a hundred times. The reason they gave was because the Roots didn’t write their own music. For you 60’s teens as I was, think about this, most of the MoTown music was written by Berry Gordy, Holland, Dozier and Holland and Associates. Yet the Temps, Tops, Supremes and a score of others are in the Hall! They also said (on another note) the Dave Clark 5 wouldn’t be in because one judge said they did’t sing, they screamed. The hall can really suck at times!!!!

I know an old interview, but Rob Grill was great and the interviewer was pretty stupid. There is no Grass Roots without Rob Grill and with all the hits they deserve to be in the HOF!

Getting tired of award shows such as the Grammys, Rock and Roll hall of Fame etc. They seem to be overlooking many great bands . Too bad they couldn't have inducted the Grassroots while Rob Grill was alive. Poor excuse they gave not to. Shame on them.

The interviewer does not have a clue about the Grassroots. Grill was just a gentleman. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a joke, very political....and does not deserve to be known as the Hall. They have some secret, obscure, unsubstantial voting system that keeps the best groups and performers out. Isaac Hays with one hit is in, Grassroots which were the most popular group in the nation in 1971 and 1972 with like 30 hits are not part of the Hall of Fame. Chicago was kept out until 2014 or something and they had 39 hits.. Grassroots deserve more accolades and the Hall of Fame needs to be disbanded. It is a complete farce.
