Rene Elizarraras That is exactly how we looked at it. Pretty much in the tradition of The Beatles later records and Pink Floyd. We would mostly come up with sounds and then write the parts not the other way around.

That being said i'm glad your work in Chinese Democracy can be notice through out the record. However a couple of months ago your version of the album leaked, and we the hardcore fans agree that your version is a million times better than the final product. So, congrats on that!! And too bad that wasn't the album that was released to the public.

The great thing about your interviews, Warren, is that they're so natural. You go through a person's history and background, getting a snapshot of their past works and how it led to where they are today. That's the stuff I like to hear. And then by staying natural, that history branches off in many directions and you just talk together about everything. It gets to be natural while still mining as much good information/conversation as if it were rehearsed or something. It satisfies everyone that way. I hope you know how rare your interview style is! I think more discussions about what is the same, and what is different, with the process based on vocal styles, instrumentation, sample heavy and synth, etc.... Kenny beats. Mike Will Made It. The only way I would really be able to use it would be in this type of setting. Max Matson I love it. I use it mostly these days for creating sub drops. It does it so well and so quick. I still use it live when Juliette and I do stripped down 8mm shows. It provides the drum groove for a version of “Scream Where My Heart Should Be”. I love its uniqueness and how easy it is to program and get really expressive and individual analog drum sounds. It is truly fast and fun and what all instruments should be...inspiring.

Thanks Warren for another great interview! I would love to know how Sean recorded Axl Roses´s vocals. I mean for example in the song "This I Love" Axl goes from a fairly quiet part into screaming so how do you deal with that kind of performance?

Deep Clouds Axl is such a dynamic singer in emotional delivery but his voice is very pro, very controlled, the switch between his baritone and high screams doesn’t jump more than 6db so it was pretty easy to control with a good compressor (LA2A), into a comp or limiter (1176 or or UA 176) The Neve 1073 preamp wouldn’t really blow over too bad while coming up with the parts. Most times we would record verses separately with one pre amp gain setting and then we recorded screamy parts with their own setting.
