I have been attending a couple of Ibn Arabi groups this past year, and this interview was really very helpful in getting a better understanding of the life and teachings of this Sufi mystic. Excellent ! Inspirational !

Ibn Arabi's "Meccan Illuminations" are incredible, as with the "Bezels of Wisdom". Henry Corbin has also written some amazing books on Ibn Arabi.

In Greek, the name "Stephen" means "crown," which happens to perfectly suit the gravitas and nobility of Mr. Hirtenstein's formidable presence.

I’m only 20 minutes in, and am not wanting this interview to end lol. I’ve been looking for more video/audio content on Ibn Arabi and there just doesn’t seem to be enough in English, so I insist you guys interview Dr. Stephen once again! Or perhaps a series of other Akbarian scholars like Dr. Samir Mahmoud, Dr. Winkel, Oludamini Ogunnaike, and others from the Ibn Arabi society. Thanks and look forward to checking out the rest of your KZbin catalogue!

The Sufi sciences are beautiful and real sciences. The truth behind this topic is that when you deal with the Creator, you find that everything changes time, place . You think that you were born again. The only mistake is that you do not talk to anyone, because if you talk you go out of Human nature becomes unusual

I always get annoyed when the word "ideas" are used like "his ideas" because he stated, that he does not reflect on truth, they are bestowed via unveiling by God, they aren't ideas

Yeah, the Ibn Arabi in the Ertigul TV show is just a stereotypical Turkish Baba. Ibn Arabia's knowledge is a thing that would have astonished the scholars and the intelligentsia of pre Ottoman Anatolia.

Ibn Arabiis name can’t be mention in any masjid (mosque )in America . You be called a deviant That’s how sad it’s the state of Islam this days
@enlightenlife28402 жыл бұрын
That's the typical salafi ideology lol, they don't want Muslims to 'love' Allah. Their ideology is fear to get people to commit to their faith. Alot end up atheists lol especially the new generation, can't fool them anymore. Ibn arabi is unique because he learnt how to become a spiritualist through Islam, he never deviated he just had unique ideas, nobody is perfect is even great pious men.
