Louis crying almost got some tears out of me. Hes just my favorite character in the show, i just love him. Apparently when that little boy called Claudia a crow, it was a Romanian slur for dark skinned people. So that explains why she shoved him like that, lol.

You wondered if the ripped out eyeballs could regenerate. 👁 👁 If the lore is consistent with the novels, they can be *replaced* but not regenerated. If they're replaced with vampire flesh, it'll be as good as new. If it's replaced with human flesh, it works for a while then starts to rot and must be replaced with fresh mortal parts.

When Louis and Claudia fled New Orleans, it was during the early years of WW2. Season 2 picks up near the end of WW2 during the Russian troop occupation of Eastern Europe. The creatures they encounter are revenant vampires from Romania. This is mentioned in the Anne Rice books.

21:32 I'm SO glad that you guys caught on to that parallel.... The show makes MULTIPLE parallels between things that Claudia experiences and things that we've been told or seen that Lestat experienced. There's too many of them for them to not be intentional, IMO. And that was one of them. Lestat's maker Magnus set fire to himself pretty much immediately after making Lestat into a vampire.... And the first other vampire that Claudia meets that isn't Louis and Lestat or Bruce does the SAME thing Lestat's maker did. Claudia is very much Lestat's daughter... & the show wants to show you that in a couple of different ways than just within the dialogue. Claudia does eventually get referenced as being very similar to Lestat in the books ...so we HAVE to assume that someone's going to verbally say it, at some point... But the show is being really smart and also visually showing parallels between the two... So maybe it'll hit harder when someone does eventually verbally compare the two? They're showing us snippets of her life being a reflection of his in some ways. It's absolutely brilliant writing IMO.

I read an article recently that said the Sunday numbers aren't that strong, but I don't recall it saying anything about the overall streaming numbers; so I hope you're right about those. I get the feeling that the critics love it, but the wider public hasn't necessarily caught on yet. Maybe they're pushing it more in an effort to change that because I think they want to make the Anne Rice Universe a flagship for them. The Walking Dead can't keep going forever.

I didn't really miss Lestat's presence, maybe bc I was too excited to meet Armand properly and getting to know our new Claudia. This episode was more of a bridge between chapters, really enjoyed the grimness of it. That scene in the wagon is one of my favourites from the whole show

This season is actually better than the first season. Each episode just gets better and better. Lestat was painted as a monster from Louie's pov. Louie and Armand aren't reliable narrators. Don't judge Lestat too harshly until you get his version of the story.
