I can remember when I stumbled upon this video for the very first time. That was nearly 10 years ago but the effect it has on me has not changed and although the full length film was a masterpiece, I've always preferred this short&sweet summation of the story.

The book makes you really feel the imagery. The love between Louis and Claudia, Claudia's hate for Lestat, even the blood drinking makes it sound good! Anne Rice is a genius!

This is my most favorite youtube video of all time. The darkness of the theme, the delicate and beautiful obscure gem of a song, the nostalgia of this wonderful movie, and the granny quality (sign of an internet age gone by), all combined in a beautiful unforgettable dance of feelings that you had to be there at the time it was all happening for it to feel special when you reminisce about it now, made even the more sweeter if you had enough good taste to even read the book.

THis is the best Interview with a Vampire Video....I saw it and I was like "its a good video" but then the next day I couldnt get the song out of my head. Its very touching...its sooo sad I almost shed a tear. the song goes PERFECT......Thanks :)

Anne Rice is a master of literary time period narratives, which by itself makes the book a must-read, and adding further to that, the detail of the relationship between Lestat, Louis & Claudia is priceless. By the time Claudia dies in the book you are already so enamored and infatuated with the little demon that you literally cry your eyeballs out and feel like a part of you died inside. Another fabulous time piece by Anne Rice is Cry to Heaven, which is also another masterpiece.

in the movie she's 11. in the book she's 5 and a half to 6. They thought that a 6 year old wouldn't be able to have the emotion to play someone like Claudia so they settled for someone older.

I didn't care much for Claudia when she died. I felt sorry for Louis, but not for Caludia. In a sense, she had been just as bad as Lestat killing wise. She delighted in it, unlike Louis. Besides, perhaps I didn't get the point of the movie, but from what I saw, Lestat was encouraging Louis to behave like a vampire. He bought things for Claudia, and generally they all looked after each other. I don't see why Claudia had to do what she did. I mean, how is Lestat any more evil than Claudia?
