I love Armand but yes, he's telling lies. Lestat would have never done that to Nicki and he wouldn't have massacred his fellow actors, he adored them. The thing is Louis is telling lies too. We are going to get Lestat's version and you'll see he isn't as awful as both A&L portray him to be.

I believe that Armand did some mental hoodoo on Louis. If they are going by the books, Lestat called Lois a liar. I believe this is the tv shows way of kinda making that true without outright calling him a liar.Armand did something to Louis mentally

The only thing that Louis can't be trusted for, is to be stable, and to lie. She can definitely trust him, she just (like Lestat) is very blinded by what she wants and feels she needs. There are two people making mistakes here, not just Louis. Claudia is messing up the lie/story as well. Claudia is putting them both in danger as well. There are two in this circumstance, but only one of them is here for the other. Three guesses who, hint is: its not Claudia 🤷🏽‍♀️

I hear that. BUT what I am referring to is the fact that Louis is deliberately withholding Pertinent info like “Hey, so I know we had a story but I told Armand, so I think we need to run”. He left that out- and let her walk up in there with nothing but a warning and a dream. This is the second time- not going through with burning Lestat is number 1. I know she wanted to be with the coven, but sometimes as older brother/ parent he gotta say- yo- so some new stuff went down. So Claudia is thinking Louis got her back.

@@lynnetter.freeman570 And I do understand that as well, it's not wrong, it's just not the entire scope. He's not deliberately withholding, he's simply in such a difficult position. First off, she disregards him when he tries to warn her about anything or tries to get her to face the reality about just how much danger they're both in. Every single time he tries to get her to see reason, tries to get her to understand just how dangerous this whole situation is. She equates it to him "ruining" this for her. So she's put him in the position to not know what to say or do, without risking ruining what she wants, or what she's trying to do here. She want's this so desperately, that she's not willing to listen at all, when he tries to tell her anything. So he didn't tell her, in that moment, because once again she reminded him how "important" this is for her. She impressed on him, again, how much she needs this to work. And as far as he knows, he told Armand that he himself "killed" Lestat. Not her. He actively steered the threat of death towards him alone, not her... So in that moment, telling her the truth would have meant possibly ruining this for her. He should have, I do agree. But it's just not a black and white thing. She is actively putting him in a very difficult situation. As well as even if he did tell her in that moment, based on her numerous responses before. It wouldn't have changed anything. And that's not even getting to the fact, that she keeps messing up the story herself, and she hasn't been telling Louis how "interested" Santiago is. And how he keeps asking about the story. She's keeping that from Louis, why... because she doesn't want to accept the warning signs and the danger, because she wants what she wants. And she knows that if she did, Louis would freak out and try to convince her again that this is too dangerous and that they should leave. To which she would refuse to take anything he says into account. So that's mounting danger, that she's not telling him about either. Sorry this is so long, I just didn't want to have to leave another comment replying to just your one comment... So, about Louis not burning Lestat, or not being able to. Contrary to what so many want to believe, not all of Louis' choices and actions are about Claudia. I don't see why so many people only see the Claudia side of that, and not even how wrong it was that she did that to Louis and used Louis to do that. Why is not being able to burn his love, his husband, his companion, etc. being held against him so hard. Why do people think he should have been able to just do that. Regardless of how much of a trash-garbage clown (with all the love) Lestat was/is, Louis still had deep rooted love for him. It's his soulmate, of course he's not going to be able to just allow someone to burn him. Claudia wouldn't have allowed her lover or partner to be burned, Lestat damn sure wouldn't've. What she needed was to just be free, and she got that without actually needing to fully kill him. And eventually it'll be her choice to attempt to kill him, that leads to her death. Not Louis stopping her from burning him. Last, Louis very clearly has her back. Hence why he was so willing to literally die, under the hope and belief that it would alleviate her from dealing with the consequences of her own actions. He was willing to die basically for her, just so she could be allowed to be a member of this coven and be taken care of, and be with those she feels are her own kind. At this point, he doesn't know any better. And at this point she doesn't care to consider any better. Neither of them are omniscient and neither of them are in control of Armand or his coven, or what they're planning to do. They both know there's danger, if it were up to him they wouldn't still be here at all. But Claudia has no regard for what Louis feels or thinks on the matter. She wants what she wants regardless. And it's gonna cost them both. Louis is trying to do what he can, to protect and save her with what little he's realistically able to do in this situation. If she wasn't so sure she new "better" than anyone else, maybe he'd be able to convince her to leave, ultimately saving her from the coven and herself. But he's not going to force her, and he shouldn't.

I see an underlying story and commentary in that relationship that I’m not even sure the writers realize is there lol… black women and their loyalty to black brothers while they…? He absolutely wants to be “kept” and while she’s taking care of him he’s…? 👀 this show is so daYUM good…

@erikadixon8341 I don't mean to come off as rude, but I figure I know what you're implying and as a black woman, I don't prescribe to that at all. Louis, as a character is not a tool or a prop for other characters. Him seeking out love and companionship does not equate to leaving her, or choosing someone over her, or abandoning or anything else that people want to call it. I'm already tired of that narrative being pushed. He has been loyal to her, from the jump against his own partner and his own wants and needs and desires, again and again. At the detriment to himself and others. While she actively takes away from him and seeks others who are specifically not him. She continuously rejects him and makes sure that he remains aware that he is not enough for her, that she only "tolerates" him becauee she has yet to find 'other'. So I will never be on board that she can seek out other companionship, she can seek put love and partnership, in complete disregard of him. But if he dares to so much as return someone else's interest or affection or dares to find a companion and love for himself, he's doing a disservice to her. He has just as much right as her, and contrary to popular belief, it's not ALL about her. Past that nonsense though, I love that you've pointed out that Louis, as a person wants to be kept. People are straight up afraid to say it, so thankyou for saying he. Because he definitely does, and I think alot of people miss that. He wants to be kept, and taken care of, and managed and cherished and spoiled, etc. But unfortunately, the truth of that is also that, Claudia can not be that for him. She can't be for him what he needs, and he can't be that for her either. She is not "taking care" of him, she is stuck with him, until she finds what she perceives is "better" than him. And you really can't blame her at all, it's just unfortunate that her own choices, actions and disregard of reality or reason will be the end of her. And it's just tragic. This is genuinely, one of the best TV series to date 🙌🏽
