Gen. Stanley Mathenge Mirugi was one the top military leaders of the Mau Mau, the Kenya Land Freedom Army. In this riveting interview with Prof Macharia Munene, his wife tells how Mathenge was personally recruited by Jomo Kenyatta, Mbiyu Koinange and Bildad Kaggia to lead the fighters, which collaborates a claim we have heard so many times from the veterans we have interviewed.
