Definitely his older interviews are very English sounding. I think when he learned English he learned it with the accent but having spent much more time in America over the past few years it's sort of become a combo of Finnish, English and American.

I would say it was both. At one point it was deemed 'politically incorrect' to say English and the BBC started using British instead when describing anyone from GB in case a Welshman or something took offense at being lumped in with the English folk. But in terms of accents, if someone is actually speaking with an English accent, I would say it was ok to describe it as so.
