Cuz in the South people are actually much more tolerant than popular culture would have you believe. Duality exists in a lot of our families. I have fam that are gun toting conservatives that fish and all that. Then I have fam that are super free spirited like them. We all still fam. Even if we disagree on things, we're still family.

I adore it when she brings her mom on! She is very accurate. I do put warning on bringing fairy or elementals into your home ie. An altar or fairy garden without the right kinds of boundaries & protection in place. When I first dabbled in fairy energy I had fairy alters in my home, and it's always fun when you can see them (though it's usually a fleeting light or shadow). I would get mischievous ones & I would burn my hand on a pot or brake a glass & a tiny black dot would zoom away from the incident! Little stinkers! Never did anything too bad but, I would put up boundaries if they are allowed inside to limit their space to an indoor plant area in your living room or kitchen. You don't want their energy in a bedroom, because they are very fluttery & active & it can disrupt sleep. Also tell them, you can talk to them & just tell them they are welcome in an area & where they are not welcome. And you can reinforce this boundary by inviting a higher power you resonate with like Arch Angel Michael or Thor or whatever kind of being you resonate with, into your home and a piece of them will always be in your home protecting it, and your boundaries. I would usually pick a being of force/power. There's a reason Michael has a sword & Thor a hammer, and it's to protect. If your starting out I suggest going to a thrift store or value store you can usually find fairy statues in the home goods areas. They enjoy offerings of cream & honey & limit metal/salt in their area. Have fun! Once you start opening the door to their realm you will begin to see them more in nature. I'm pretty into this stuff, and I can count my fairy encounters on two hands. So it is rare to see them & when you do it's so... reassuring. I'm ranting but there is so much to explore in the other realms. 😇

I've always been a believer in fairies and I've ALWAYS thought the woods and forests were magical. I remember one week, when I was 7 or 8, I was staying at my grandparents' house in the summer. (We live in the south and we're surrounded by woods.) I was playing around the pecan tree in their front yard by myself and was making "fairy beds" out of leaves and sticks and some soft grass. When I was done, I placed a yellow flower on top and went inside for the night. The next day, I went out and checked on the bed and the flower was gone, but everything else was untouched. And nothing about that bed was sturdy, either. All the leaves were loose and the grass could have easily blown away. But it didn't. So I put out two more flowers and went inside. And sure enough, the next day both flowers were gone but the bed was still untouched. I just knew it was fairies and it was something I kept to myself- like it was my and the fairies' little secret. I continued making little beds with flowers and pretty leaves for years after. I'm 22 now and I haven't made a fairy bed in quite some time, but now wild flowers and mushrooms grow in that same spot under my grandparents' pecan tree.

I once asked the faeries to help my childhood dog be comfortable and happy on the day she had to be put down. Surrounding her that day were tons of butterflies, carpenter bees, and day moths. Every day before then (because she was stuck in one spot unable to move while outside) nothing was swarming her. I gave them an offering of some cake, in various places to make sure they got them and they took them. I was very thankful.

The thing is, whether you believe in these things or not, the stories are out there and they are intriguing, fun, vibrant, so rich and full of details that they make you question how much we know without knowing, how much we still have to discover about the world, and that's the thing that makes life exciting. I’m a bit of an environmentalist, and I find the idea of fairies so sweet! I don’t personally believe in them but it’s such a wholesome and cute way for people to pay attention to nature and the environment because they don’t want to harm the elementals. I’m all for it, whatever helps people respect nature is amazing and worth talking about. And the fairy gardens are gorgeous!

Fun fact: the mythology of “salamander” being a fire symbol comes from the old days of using fire wood logs that would be kept outside. People thought the salamander was being born from the fire but really it was escaping haha

When she said Leap Castle my jaw DROPPED. My family are descendants of the clan that inhabited the castle for centuries and when I was studying in Europe and my mom came to visit, we went and visited ourselves. While there, I had the most intense experience with a spirit I’ve ever had. The structure there now is different than the one that would have stood then, so it’s so interesting to learn that the original castle had it’s own otherworldly secrets. I’m blown away.

I got really sick one time and they had to rush me to a witch doctor at some point (I'm from the Philippines) and he saw that I had 2 dwarves/elves guarding me. (He wasn't sure which of the 2 I had. But he said I had a white and a black one.) That was a long time ago. Last year, I had a friend from twitch from Hawaii who works as a tarot reader, teaches people witchcraft, etc, and he did a past life reading for me. He said that he saw that I had dwarves/elves protecting me for so many lives now. (He said I had a lot that he can't really count and he wasn't sure if it was dwarves or elves too because he can't see them clearly) He said they feel compelled to take care of me and that they think I'm fun to be around. They feel like they needed to care for me especially when I was much younger because they knew my mom and I won't have a really good relationship with her and that was true. I was pretty rebellious until I was 19.

I love that your giving such a grounded chat about the fae. Also a word of caution: if you're going to chat with/ mingle with the fae, always remember your p's and q's, never say the word "yes" (unless you absolutely mean it), never directly thank them (it implies you now owe them a favour) and never give them your real name. If you need a good example of that, think of how Rumple is described to behave and work from there. Oh, also the cute and beautiful ones are likely to be the most malevolent so watch your footing!

No one is going to believe this but I guess this is the best place to share it. My best friend and I were driving back to her house one evening. She lives in the country, lots of wildlife and streams near her home. As we were driving down the dirt road that leads to their driveway, we saw something crossing the road. It was right at the edge of the headlights of her car; this human shaped shadowy figure that seamlessly shape shifted into a cat (about a house cats size) in mid stride. We were totally sober and I was in shock and a million questions were obviously firing in my head. So I paused and then asked her, "did you just see that?" and she said "yes". Then I asked her to tell me what she saw and she described exactly what I just described. I was like, "wait...then that means...what does this mean? Let's get back to your place and tell your dad". But she said, "No, we never talk about this again and pretend it didn't happen." I guess she just wanted to go back to her normal life and not have her reality be too shaken or something. I have quite a few stories like this with other witnesses and I just can't pretend I saw nothing and well, it still eats at me now and again.

Growing up in Ireland I've always been so nervous around fairy rings and wild mushrooms in general. I was always told to never step on the mushrooms because they were where the fairies lived and if you stepped on them the fairies would be angry and would take you away. I was also warned of changelings which were fairy babies who would replace human children and cause trouble and I was always told to never pick up hair combs off the ground cause they could belong to a banshee. To be honest they were really just ways to stop me from ruining plants or picking up dirty shit off the ground but tbh I think everyone still sorta believes in them even if its only a little bit. Another thing that I was told was that back before christianity came to Ireland and almost everyone believed in fae folk, it was common belief that fairies were very clean beings who didn't like things that were dirty so the way that they protected there homes (especially families with young children) was to literally dump their shit outside their door so that the fairies wouldn't want to come in. Another belief that terrified me as a child was that the fae folk lived underground in tunnels. The thought of being dragged underground by an angry fairy still creeps me out ngl. Sorry if this doesn't make much sense I kinda just typed anything that I could remember being told. If you wanna learn more I'm sure google has plenty of information or there's a great animated film called "The Song of the Sea" which has a lot of Irish folklore and mythology in it, there's also the leprechaun museum in Dublin where you can learn a lot if you're ever visiting or live here and haven't went.

I love hearing open-mindedness with these kinds of subjects because I’ve been learning about this since I was a kid because my family consists of a bunch of wiccans and psychics. Please continue to spread the beauty of the diverse energies of the universe because the more inclusive the collective is the more we’re able to coexist with such energies and the existence of other beings. There has to be truth to what society labels as fantasies and folklores, otherwise how would they exist? Where would they come from if there wasn’t some kinda origin or truth to them?

The Filipino culture have some deep-rooted superstitions that are linked with the otherworld some examples are: - Saying "tabi tabi po."(excuse me) when passing through an area with lots of trees or a new place you've never been before. Sign of respect to the residents that may live there that you're not seeing. - When travelling/hiking/driving you feel like going around in circles/loop, turn your clothes inside out to confuse the elementals that may have played a trick on you.

As a greek i would like to chime in and say some things: First of all, Greece has a long history of "Wicca", per se, since its ancient religion and faith were centered around the 12 Olympian Gods and their relation to the elements. An example of how deep the faith could go are the Eleusinian Mysteries which were initiations held every year for the cult of Demeter and Persephone based at the Panhellenic Sanctuary of Eleusis in ancient Greece. They are the "most famous of the secret religious rites of ancient Greece". Even though the 12 God worship predated Orthodoxy, the current form of religion of modern Greece is still one of the darker and more ancient forms of Christianity with tighs that go back to ancient Greece and its former religious practices. All of that goes to show that these things were believed to exist then, so it is only natural for us to discover a lot of new things when we look back at that time, paying the proper attention and having a clearer mind about them makes it easier to understand the idea as a whole. One last thing I would like to point out is the word Sylph and its origin since it was briefly mentioned by your lovely Mhysa in this video. The word does not actually mean butterfly in Greek, and the whole etymology is an alternative theory, it derives from the Ancient Greek σίλφη (silphē), in English: "moth". Moth in Greek may translate to Butterfly of the Night but generally, there are numerous physical and behavioral differences between the two insect types. Thus the etymology can be dismissed from the lack of an objective historical and semantic connection. That was so long, i apologize! Thank you for bringing your mother to talk to us about these things again, she is lovely and so informative.

@@lemonkissed201 To be honest i don't know which term would be correct since Romanian people are the ones who are called gypsies where I live. I dont use that term and I call them either Romanian or Romani people, since gypsy can be used as a derogatory term in a lot of cases and I dont want to offend anyone. The Romani people are closely related to witchcraft and they have their own traditions and practises, a lot is hidden within the community so since I am not Romani i cant be an expert on this subject. The specific form of Wicca i know they practice, the one I have seen, is tarot and palm reading. Spells can come to the mix but that is potent magic and it requires much more practice. I hope I helped, but it would be best to ask someone who either is a Romani or is a part of their community to know more

Fairy rings are a big thing here in Ireland. Most of use know of one somewhere. At my family home the council was doing up the road and refused to remove an ancient Hawthorne basically in the middle of the road. This was because the locals believed it was a fairy ring. Rings, possessed animals at night, Banshees, death carriages have all strong links to Irish folklore.

Shadow people usually give off a vibe so most of the time I don’t feel scared because they don’t feel malicious. But if you keep believing that malicious spirits will come after you and thinking that spirits like the shadow people are scary then they will be attracted to you that way so by believing that spirits are loving and not being scared of them then no evil spirits will be attracted to you.

i grew up in an older house me and my siblings we’re so convinced it was haunted. things would go missing, things would move around or open or you’d hear walking and knocking and this video is literally blowing my mind. Me and my sister are both Earth signs and we felt the energy the most. We lived near a lot of trees and flowers and land and my dad loved to plant and grow things and we lived in a very watery climate. What’s also such a weird coincidence is my dad gave me a gnome statue when i was younger and told me to make sure to always keep my belongings locked because they love to be playful and screw around. as a 7 year old i thought he was kidding but i always had this fear of it and would always lock my things. i also used to hear knocking on my window where a tree grew against. that is so crazy thank you for enlightening us on elementals!
