Used one on a Gummotex Solar between in lands in Fiji. Speed increased from 4 kph to 8kph with a max of 11kph. Great fun, but it is only suitable for very Broadreach and Run sailing.

Where do you place the keel? Taking into account that the sail is located so far forward (spinnaker) do you place the keel in the center of the kayak or more forward, three quarters of the length, bringing it closer to the bow?

Hi, the K2 is the very same kayak but longer. In my opinion there is no reason why it should not work. At least it is worth to try it. The only thing is that you will need additional rope to fix the top rope of the sail at the back of the kayak because it’s longer. Or it is also possible to hold it with your hands while sailing.

Was it very easy to hook up the sail to the kayak upper deck? Where can one buy this sail?

Yes, you can easily hook it into the fixtures for the baggage net with carabines. One on each side. For the back you can simply hold it with your hands or hook it also with a carabine at the backside of the kayak. I took the last option and made a cord loop for the hook. You can get such a sail on Amazon or eBay.

My Croatian language is not the best so I answer in English. It is the adriatic sea. The salt water is not a problem for the material when you are on a trip. But in order to avoid crusts of salt after the trip and the kayak dried I wipe the boat with a damp cloth after every time. If you do not wipe it up you get those dry salty spots. I think it does not harm so far but it is better to wipe it up.

@@savetheplanet8458 Yes the speed is ok, but of course an inflatable kayak is lower than a usual kayak.Therefore is has other advantages like the stability.
