This is a nice fix. I will consider this but for now my fix is to take a big trash can, flip it upside down then pick the pump up and sit it on the trash can. This raises the pump above the water line. I then can unscrew the top of the pump and replace the filter without having to plug the inlet and outlets in the pool. Thanks for the video!

You don’t even have to do that just leave the filter on and unscrew the top and take the cartridge out and clean it. Bc it’s running and cycling water like none even comes out. All this stuff is not necessary with these little pools

@@justbeth82 Exactly. So many people are over-thinking all of this. These Intex filters are so easy to clean (and replace if needed) but weekly cleaning works wonders.

Alternatively you can just lift the pump above the water level (put it on a stool or something). Now you can clean without any water coming out. But the plungers do look nicer :D

My old pool had the skimmer/pump attached to the side which was super easy! I was instantly regretting getting this kind the first time I had to change the filter. This will help so much!

So it looks like the upgrades are just for the valves and not the pump filter system. I am wanting to also upgrade to an Intex sand filter pump, but am not sure if that will fit on this exact pool without additional adapters. Does anyone have any helpful advice?

So in this video, I just added the plunger valves, but in another video, I upgraded the pump. You will need to upgrade your inlet valve, which requires a little modification on the pool. Here's a link to that video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y2HRkoxuht2AebM I didn't use a sand filter, I upgraded to a bigger cartridge pump, but it is the same size hoses and inlet nozzle as the sand filter. What else was it that I needed to get besides the upgraded inlet valve? I watched the other video yesterday and I saw something that connected the two hoses that come out of the pool into the one hose that goes into the pump. Will I need that as well?

Hello, great video... Out of coincidence I was just researching this pool today and found your two videos. If you are able to answer, is the base of the pool 15 ft diameter, or is the upper part 15 ft? It looks like it bulbs out a little bit. I'm actually hoping it's 15 ft. at the base/bottom, as the slab of concrete I would place it on is 15ft x 15ft almost exactly... Thank You..

Thank you, I'm glad you found me! We used edges to create a 15 1/2 X 15 1/2 space to put ours since I wanted to have a few inches left between the edging and the bottom of the pool and it worked out that way so the bottom is right at 15 feet from what I can tell. It does bulge out a little on the sides but as long as you keep the bottom of the pool on the slab you're using it should be fine. I don’t even bother plugging my holes when I clean the Cartridge I just leave the filter running and take the cartridge out, spray it and stick it back in and it’s fine. When it’s on you won’t lose much water. No need to mess with all that just take it out while it’s on the water won’t even come out much

I on the other hand enjoy plugging holes when cleaning filters. Of course not mine, the pools, but to each their own. I don’t know how this went a year and no one ripped you on that comment. Hey another summer is here, enjoy the pool y’all.

Can you actually swim in that pool? I'm looking for something more affordable than an inground pool that I could swim in rather than just splash around. Thanks for the great video ❤

You're welcome and thank you! So my pool is 15ft wide by 48 inches deep. I believe the largest easy set pool is 18 feet wide and the same depth as mine. It's big enough to swim in but still be able to stand up at any point in the pool. We have 5 kids and have had them plus one or two others in this pool together all at the same time. If you want to be able to swim laps you'd probably want the rectangular intex above ground pool, I can't remember the name of that pool line. For depth reference I'm 5'2 and the water comes up to my ribs when I'm standing in the pool. I hope that helps!

Hi Anne. I have the 18' by 48" pool and I'm 5' 2" and swim around in my pool. I can get about 4 or 5 freestyle strokes and can swim around underwater with ease. Using a noodle I can get plenty of aquatic exercises in. I LOVE my Easy Set pool and believe you will too. It can be expensive so please research and get deals on a bigger GPH pump (the one that comes with it is inadequate, as well as the flimsy ladder) and the upgraded connections shown here by The Nifty Nester. I've had my pool for 5 years and I enjoy it more each year!

Check all the little rubber gaskets at each connection.
