Could we see this boat being packed into a box right after sailing? This will be very interesting. I've never seen one before.

I've had mine for almost 10 years (when they were only 100 bucks) and its still going to this day. One of my seats got a hole in it once but besides that. Its good ass raft. My advice if you gonna use a trolling motor. Build some kind of a small platform for the battery to sit because there is no where safe you can place it. Having no where safe for the battery and the bag you carry it in, is the only down fall. I have put my raft in a box because that bag has been torn up and thrown out by year 2.

Just got one of these for my winter project. First thing I'm doing is a two piece wood floor. Gonna do the outdoor carpet and use hinges. Little bit at a time and I'll be set by spring.

Can you deflate the boat with the pump that comes with it? I just ordered this boat but i'm afraid i won't be able to deflate it entirely to fold it up nicely and put in in the bag again.
@amojamal182
@amojamal182 Жыл бұрын
No you can't deflate it with the small included pump. I ordered the biger size 48 and it has a deflate option. Even with that one it didn't work

This is for the kids. However make sure you always follow the instructions. Super prone to leaks. I’ve owned two and they always leaked. That’s why I upgraded to a Bris boat. The bags also suck from Intex.
@HufflerGarage
@HufflerGarage 2 жыл бұрын
We have 2 Bris dinghies that we love. You definitely get what you pay for. That's why the Bris is $1,000 and the Intex is $200. The Bris feels more like an actual boat.

You are right these boats are not very durable at all. But I put 25hp outboard on same boat even it seem unbelievable :D check the video I uploaded in my profile

These excursion 5's are awesome for their price. A lot of people who say these boats are unreliable and cheap over inflate them so they obviously puncture easier if the rubber is taught and not flexy as they should be. Got a 50lb trolling motor on ours and does awesome 4 years later not a single leak yet and we go over logs and rocks and such.

How is the quality of the material. I have a Intex boat that exploded.
@HufflerGarage
@HufflerGarage 2 жыл бұрын
It's similar to what you would get on a towable. A step up from a pool float, but not nearly as nice as an actual dinghy. You definitely get what you pay for. Haven't had any leaks yet, but I'll be surprised if it makes it past next summer.

I made a hard floor and motor mount for this boat and I ran 25hp outboard on it :D make your guess by this how strong the material of the boat is. I got video on my profile.

I want to see this boat stock with a Yamaha 3hp 2 stroke outboard which weighs 36lbs and is compliant with the Intex Motor Mount im Both power limitations and weight restrictions. I think if it’s gone about perfectly with no mistakes made in installations then it would actually work. It would be interesting to see what the top speed would be with this setup when only one person is in the boat with said motor. I’m guessing it would go nearly 20mph or so.

Excuse me but you are not right. If you wanna see this boat with big outboard I made modification of this boat and put way to big outboard 25hp and weighted 110lbs. I thought it would go insanely fast but no. I got only 12mph with around 70lbs weight in front. When I tried to give more throttle the bow goes really high and engine started to sink. This boat is just not designed for speed, doesn't have enough resistance to stay balanced. With big outboard bow will always go up even with little throttle. The video of modification is on my profile

Can you stand on the boat?
@HufflerGarage
@HufflerGarage Жыл бұрын
No. The floor isn't rigid enough to comfortably stand. Some people have built wooden floors in these to make them more stable.

I loved it when it worked. But honestly, it will only last a season. If you have a smart pump that can auto stop at the right pressure. You should see this last longer.
