Thank you! I watched several videos about this kayak, and you were the first to notice the drain hole on the bottom of the kayak. Everyone else took the kayak out on the water, and went "oh shit" when water was filling their kayak. Drain plugs are important.

This is a great review, thank you so much! It was in depth and had good directions, which a new beginner needs. As mentioned before none of the other reviews said anything about the drain hole so that's very helpful to know. Ive kayaked at least 5 times before and we just ordered this as our first beginners kayak. Can't wait to try it out! Any tips on anything else we should buy for it? I've heard people buying a small anchor and flex tape in case of any holes?

Thank you for your review. I inflated recently my new one and noted white thin thread (of 1-2 inches long) that were not (completely) covered by the read plastic coating that is on the boat. My boat kept the pressure well during the night and looks otherwise good. This is definitely from manufacturer production. Do you consider it as cosmetic and was present on your boat (I have not noted on your video - but may be they are there) or something serious that should not be present (as red plastic seems less thick at the place the thread appears) and I should claim that? In my case, I have about 8-10 this white threads on the upper part aligned in about two lines.

I haven't really had any mold issue. I just make sure I take it out on a good day and give it a quick rinse in the summer. I probably wont worry about mold in the winter.

Nice review and demo. Is it possible to keep inflated and drive mounted w/ roof of vehicle like a hard kyaks or would it bend and flop and wind?

It is pretty solid. However, I would be cautious putting this on top of car roof. I am pretty sure it will hold it maybe up to 40 mph, but anything faster than that I can't say for sure. Did I answer your question? Are you consider buying it? I am planning on uploading my experience on this kayak pretty soon. I have been out 3 times already and once when the wind was very STRONG. stay tuned!

Sure, I would say my first outing was a good. The kayak glide through the water pretty well. The kayka length and the skeg helps a lot. I dont have to put too much effort on paddling. Other than the fact that the paddle is pretty heavy...

I just tested out my kayak today I loved it but How did you like the paddles ? I am 5’9 and they seemed short for me and hard to paddle with.

My wife is 5ft and if she is one the booster seat that comes with, she is fine paddling. Do you mean it is hard becasue it is heavy? or the paddles are too short? I think if you are looking into long term use, I suggest getting a better paddles that fit your height and its light.

Yeah, the paddles that are included with the Kayak are not the best. They will get you out on the water though!

@@innojr582 there are still some selling for $207. I have been looking all week. A few are charging over $300. I think that also may be theatest model (kinda like new car cross over years). I found one on FB market place starting at $200 & used 1x (mistake on the twice on my original post) and half parts are still in factory sealed bags. I got it for $180 and not tax, shipping, or wait time for fulfillment. Worth the price I think!

So i have an option to buy a twice used intex excusion pro 2 with all parts for $200. This is for me (a 190lb adult) and my 80lb, 4'7" 11yro old. We are using it just for casual water enjoyment and salmon fishing maybe twice a year. Is $200 a good deal given all the above & use case in your opinion? Thx!

Hey I think the kayak would be perfect for you and your kid. But I would recommend to negotiate with the price a bit. although it is almost new, it is used. I think if you can bring the price down a little it would be a great purchase!

@@SparkFishing she did negotiate a little. She mentioned no tax or poss shipping fees and most are struggling on fulfillment right now (very true). Also, half of the extras were still factory sealed (paddle, foot rests, booster, bar, and bag). She also filled it all up so we could check for leaks (none) and we learned together how to change Skegs. Overall I saved about $35 and time! I can use it tomorrow if I want! Yay! Very excited! Secondly- ever salmon fish? And if so, what bait do you find best?

The Excursion Pro is of higher quality (more durable material, better valves, etc.). The Excursion 5 is more comparable to the cheaper Intex Explorer K2

I dont know K2 but the excursion is definitely worth the money. Its durable and stable. It is also more professional look than k2.

Why do you have a tag on you hat? Is that some kind of new "trend"? lol, Makes it look like you just swiped it off the shelf and walked out. Or maybe you are worried you will forget the hat specifications, in case you need to repeat them to law enforcement? hehehehe, yeah I'm having a ton of fun here :) By the way, don't forget to mention the patch kit does not come with glue....just the material squares.

The floor on mine completely completely leaked and I almost sunk. On the first trip in the thing! I should have known better than to buy from one of these low-quality Chinese companies. And the pump it comes with is a toy. So flimsy. I wouldn’t expect it to last more than a handful of inflations.

Mine absolutely sucks, and so does Intex. All of my seats were defective, they only replaced one, which ended up defective as well. The other one of these I bought has had multiple punctures. They are very cheaply made, and are definitely not durable despite the way Intex markets them. Intex left me hanging and did not honor their warranty policy. They really suck big time. Avoid Intex, and this product in particular.
