Hey great feedback! And don't be afraid to use the patch kit in the future if you ever get a hole, I'm seeing way to many people toss out various inflatables that could be patched & used for years more.

I got this one for Father's day this year, and man, this kayak is awesome! It feels so tough, easy to setup, easy to paddle, and can even hold my entire family, totally worth more than the price. And I found out the pump can deflate it on my second trip, make it even better.

Does the material feel tough.... like actual "rubber?" I'm thinking about buying one right now! ✌️👍
@adamzhu2313
@adamzhu2313 2 жыл бұрын
@@scottshepard3662 Hi man, I am not sure about "rubber" because I've seen too many kinds of rubber, let me describe my experience on it for you, the surface material feel like an extra thick, fine tarp. I've accidentally dragged it above some under water sharp stone (with no load), it didn't leave a single scratch. With the recommended air pressure, the bottom almost feel like a hard shell for anybody smaller than 150 lbs, but you for somebody over 200 lbs, the butt spot still sinks a little. I haven't had any real puncture yet. The handling is not that good due to the shape, the fin on the bottom helps a little, but still not as good as hard-shell ones. It totally worth the price, if you get a good deal, it would be fantastic. There is another useful video compares all popular inflatables, you can look it up.

It is nice and quite sturdy. I had one for a few years with some patches already. The only thing I don’t like is the fishing rod holders that make the rods crossing. To solve this issue (to make the rod direction toward outside and not crossing), today I discover that 3/4” PVC connectors can make it. Just need a pair of bending 135 degree angle connector and a pair of straight connector. Combine each bending connector with each straight one using 3/4” PVC pipe. Also use the same PVC size to connect with the rod host on Kayak. Cut a little inner tube of bicycle tire waste to layer the pipe until it’s good fit to the host.

Do you think it is ok to leave in the trunk during the summer or winter or u think the extreme temperatures can damage it? 🤔 (new jersey south jersey actually. And I am gonna dry it now hehe cause i agree with u it gotta be very dry for mold and stuff not to grow on it

Thanks man! Form what I have found out is we wan't to avoid storing it wet & in places that have large temperature variances. I'm going to keep mine in a sealed container this winter in my room, we live in the country & mice at times can find themselves homes in all kinds of things. Ruined a pair of camping chairs last winter lol, made a home in the seat lining. It's an awesome yak, hey now were yak buddies!

@WillWildsOutdoorAdventures
@WillWildsOutdoorAdventures 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks James, if you can fit it in the boat out of the water you shouldn't have any issues camping with it but the weight limit is like 250? I can't recall I'd look that up before you plan camping with it. And for any multi-day trips be prepared & regardless of the boat have that patch kit ready to use. Best of luck man

You won't regret it been out on it 6 times so far it's just great. I'm shooting for June/July looking at doing a couple of them. I need to get some extras, amazon sells an umbrella for kayaks that I kind of want for long hours in the sun & I need to get some dry bags thinking a couple 30L bags & a solar charger to put at the bow. I also recommend the service plan amazon sells on it 2 years for $25 or 3 for $35 & they cover any damage plus pay to send it back. That being said I wish I had commented more on how tuff this feels, the bottom you would have to have a knife to puncture it, even sharp jagged rocks would slide away. Let me know if you end up taking that trip or join my discord chat room there is one other woman there so far. Cheers!

I just bought this like yesterday off amazon for 293 dollars. After watching you're video I feel even more comfortable with what I bought. I been wanting to get in to Kayaking for a while but lack the space to store one. This seem like a good option. It was cheap compared to other fishing Kayaks. I figure I'd get this one in then in a few years upgrade to a more expensive one. Any way thanks for the video I'm glad I went with this one.

Thanks for making the video. I want to get something for my 3yo and I to play around in leisurely. I live in Maryland, so there's a lot of nice smooth water to play around in. I don't need anything to fancy or expensive, but I want to make sure we can use it a lot, and be safe. Of course safety is my top concern, since I'll be alone with my 3yo son. Unfortunately my car is very small. And I'm not sure that I'd be able to get anything on the roof. Also since it's just me I don't know how easy it would be to transport a hard kayak. I think inflatable kayak is the way to go. I'm not looking for anything for speed or fishing, really. Just something fun for my kid and I to do over the summer. This sounds perfect thank you!

Excellent review. Loved your detail. There is a way to fold up smaller. I had a 2 metre soft inflatable dinghy with the same valve setup and you reverse the air on the pump so it sucks instead of inflates. This takes all of the air out of the boat enabling a complete fold.

@bodhi974
@bodhi974 2 жыл бұрын
@@jodelfernandez The pump that comes with the boat has a two way valve. One pushes air in and the other pulled it out. Your pump should have two ports. Look for the arrows.

They have since added a deflation option on the pump that is included as well as a superior high quality backpack to carry the deflated Kayak in. Mine had a small pin hole in the bottom of the Kayak but fortunately you don't even need the floor section inflated to use this. Maybe the floor section is to allow for more weight but I am 165lbs and it was fine. This kayak is worth every penny.

If you look up the Intex challenger or Explorer line they have a ton of positive reviews little over 2k, 4 1/2 star average. This is like one of them but on steroids. I too was a little off of the inflatable but I wasn't really able to find anyone having issues with them. This thing is beast like, really feels like something the coast guard would use.

I have ordered one of these for moose hunting season. One spot I hunt is a small, isolated lake. I walk in about 1km from a gravel road. The opposite side backs on to many thousands of wilderness, muskeg, which is not easily accessed without crossing the narrow spit of the lake & walking around to the other side is a huge task. I recovered my moose last year using my Argo 8x8 & vloaging it across, but I want to be able cross quietly to scout, track & pursue as necessary. Th8s os my plan...

Great review! You really covered all the aspects of this model. I just bought & reviewed the normal K2 model. I’m not sure how sturdy this one is compared to the K2 explorer, but I would be careful doing anything while on the ground. I poked a hole in the bottom not even 5 seconds after attempting to blow it up as a TINY rock was sharp enough with some weight on it to pierce the bottom. Super annoying, and it can be a real pain to patch!

I have a K2 too and it seems more like a Sevylor Tahiti both being pretty good. But have to be cautious among sharp barnacles and rocks. But this Intex Pro series seems like the higher end Choice. Kinda like my Sevylor K1 river kayak or Colorado canoe. You could trashed them around quite a bit and not worry as much about barnacles and fallen tree branches. Definitely adds peace of mind out on the water. This Intex Pro is really well put together. Really informative video

A quick word of advise, the hand operated two way air pump that was provided with your INTEX Excursion kayak is also an "air-extractor", and it works great. The air-extractor method will deflate the kayak to the same state it was in when you first took it out of the box. It works a lot like one of those vacuum packaging devices for food storage.
@PhoggHawk

Right, I was surprised that he didn't use it before putting the kayak back in the bag. The pump has two ports there at the top of the handle. One blows air out and the other sucks air in.

Great question this one got stolen out my trunk around 20-25 uses, the sea eagle & AE have both held out for over 20 uses with no pops but I'm mostly using my dinghy now. Also making a video on choosing a kayak vs dinghy soon so look for that maybe next week. One thing I can say is don't be afraid of a pop these are actually safer than a lot of hard shell boats that will sink if tipped. Patching up a hole is easy & you will never need to re patch it, I see way to many people get a hole or find one after unpacking & toss out a perfectly good boat. Hope that helps, they are all great boats for the price I'd go with a Sea Eagle, these Intex boats can swing from $350-500 in a snap!

Having had experience with both inflatables and hard shell boats/canoes, I would only consider this kind of thing if I were floating downstream in a creek or river, never paddling upstream.
